Alexandria police shared photos of the fake registration stickers made from cutout flyers advertising sales and a wrapper for "cracked pepper sharp cheese."

"We can't even file this under the 'A for effort' category," the police department said.

Police said the woman could face fines up to $2,400.

Her car was towed and impounded until she was able to acquire the proper registration.

"Driving an uninspected or unregistered vehicle is a violation level offense and punishable by a small set fine," police said.

The driver was also charged with operating after suspension and driving without proof of insurance.
