Ansel Elgort has been offered the lead role in Warner Bros. and Amazon Studios adaptation of "The Goldfinch."

The "Baby Driver" star is in negotiations to play Theodore Decker in the John Crowley-directed adaptation of Donna Tartt's Pulitzer-winning novel, The Tracking Board reported.

Warner Bros. and Amazon Studios are co-financing the film, which will launch and stream on Amazon's Prime service.

Variety reported RatPac and Warner acquired the rights to the novel, which follows Decker who survives a terrorist bombing at an art museum that kills his mother, back in 2014.

"The Goldfinch" is set to begin production at the beginning of 2018 with an estimated budget of $40 million.
