"Outlander's" second season will premiere April 9, Starz said Thursday.

The upcoming 13 episodes of the time-traveling, romantic drama are based upon "Dragonfly in Amber," the second of eight books in Diana Gabaldon's best-selling "Outlander" series.

The cable network also released a trailer, as well as a first look at its teaser art featuring Claire Randall Fraser [played by Caitriona Balfe] and Jamie Fraser [played by Sam Heughan] on the steps of Versailles.

"Instead of swords and guns, they're armed with political savvy and the finest 1700s Parisian fashion as they embark on their new mission -- infiltrating the French aristocracy and rewriting history," a press release from Starz said.

"The new image gives viewers a taste of what's to come in this exciting and dangerous next chapter -- old world lavishness mixed with a sense of new world urgency."

Season 1 of the series was set in 1940s and 1740s Scotland.
