Married at First Sight couple Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner revealed whether they're expecting a baby boy or baby girl during a big gender-reveal celebration with family and friends.

Jamie and Doug, who got married on Season 1 of Married at First Sight in 2014 and welcomed Henley Grace into the world in August 2017, announced in September 2019 they're expecting a sibling for their daughter.

The couple posted a six-and-a-half minute video on YouTube of their gender reveal party, which included catered food, desserts, balloons and more.

Jamie and Doug revealed the sex of their baby on the way by having Henley, now age 2, smash blue and pink-colored eggs on their heads. One egg in the dozen was raw, and that colored egg represented a boy or girl.

Henley did a great job of breaking egg after egg on her parents' foreheads, but then Henley picked up a blue egg and suddenly decided to hand the task over to her mother with four uncracked eggs still remaining.

"I don't want to smash it, Mommy," Henley told Jamie.

Jamie therefore smashed the blue egg on Doug's head and the runny yolk began to run out, leaving Jamie looking shocked as she and Doug both celebrated being pregnant with a son.

Cheers also erupted from the pair's family and friends watching close by.

"It's a boy!" Jamie yelled in the video.

Doug tried to kiss his wife in the middle of all the excitement, but she was so surprised her jaw was still dropped open.

The fact Jamie and Doug are expecting a boy is special because it had been an ongoing struggle for the couple to get pregnant. Prior to Henley's arrival, Jamie delivered a son, Johnathan, at 17 weeks in 2016.

"Doug instantly cried tears of joy. Our first baby was a boy, but we lost him at 17 weeks. Of course he loves our daughter, but he's wanted a baby boy so badly for so long. This is truly an answered prayer for us," Jamie told People.

After Henley was born, Jamie experienced a miscarriage shortly after conception was detected about one year ago, and then in January 2019, Jamie disclosed she had lost another baby at 10 weeks, according to E! News.

"For me, I can honestly say I was and I am still just praying for a happy and healthy baby. I didn't care if it was a boy or girl -- please just stick and be healthy. Of course, Doug wants that too, but he was begging God for a boy who'd stick and be healthy," Jamie shared.

"With our last boy pregnancy I was planning the 'gender reveal' around this time and then literally a week and a half later I delivered him. Far too early to survive. And it was the most excruciating experience of our lives."

Jamie continued, "With this pregnancy, we've seen the fertility specialist from the very beginning and graduated to our OB. I've had zero bleeding/cramping with this pregnancy so I am confident it is a healthy baby -- at least I try my best to stay confident."

Jamie admitted she's "so excited" to be able to carry a baby again but also "a little scared."

Jamie told People she has a "silly worry" that she's "never been a boy mom," but she's apparently excited "for the challenge of learning how to consistently chase and keep a boy entertained."

Jamie and Doug revealed they have "about 20 names to narrow down" for their son, but they can't wait for Henley to have a companion to grow up with.

Ahead of the gender reveal, Jamie took to Instagram teasing the big day.

"For our last two pregnancies we never got the chance to find out if it was a boy or girl -- let alone celebrate our newest little addition. They were taken from us too fast. Soooo, we are going all out and CELEBRATING the fact that we were able to make and I'm able to carry this sweet little baby safely inside me," Jamie captioned a photo with Doug over the weekend.

Jamie also shared she and Doug had done "these wacky gender prediction tests," which led her to believe she was expecting a girl based on the results.

Doug, however, predicted he and Jamie were going to have a boy.

"Which just goes to show we can never agree on anything!" Jamie joked on Instagram.

Jamie and Doug's baby on the way is due in May 2020.

Following their stint on Married at First Sight, Jamie and Doug co-starred on Married at First Sight: The First Year, a spinoff which continued to follow the two MAFS Season 1 couples who opted to remain together during their first year of marriage.

Jamie and Doug also later starred on Married at First Sight: Jamie and Doug Plus One, their own spinoff which premiered in December 2017.

Jamie currently serves as the host of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, the show's post-episode discussion show that also airs on Lifetime.

Jamie and Doug additionally appeared on Married at First Sight: Couples Couch, which featured former MAFS couples offering commentary on encore broadcasts of the show's ninth-season episodes, this past summer.
