Married at First Sight alum Jamie Otis has suffered multiple miscarriages during her marriage to Doug Hehner, and Jamie has revealed she plans to tell her daughter Henley about them when the two-year-old is old enough.

"I totally plan to at some point," Jamie, 33, told Us Weekly in a recent interview.

"I mean, one day she's going to ask... and I'll explain it to her. How, I don't know. But I have time to think about it. We'll take it day by day."

Jamie and Doug, who got married on Season 1 of Married at First Sight in 2014 and welcomed Henley into the world in August 2017, announced in September 2019 they're expecting a sibling for their daughter.

But getting pregnant has been an ongoing struggle for the couple. Prior to Henley's arrival, Jamie delivered a son, Johnathan, at 17 weeks in 2016.

"Johnathan is still very much a part of our lives in a sense," Jamie said.

After Henley was born, Jamie experienced a miscarriage shortly after conception was detected about one year ago, and then in January 2019, Jamie disclosed she had lost a baby at 10 weeks, according to E! News.

Although Henley doesn't know about Johnathan yet, Jamie revealed her daughter takes part in honoring his life.

"For Christmas, he was due in December so every year we buy little boys' toys that would be for his age and we donate them," Jamie shared.

"It's a nice way to honor him... because I'm supposed to have a little boy [and] that was supposed to be her big brother. [Henley] has seen the tree, and last year I had her help pick out the toys. But she doesn't know."

"So many people have had to mourn in private because it's so taboo to talk about. Why is that our culture, not to tell anyone about your pregnancy before it's 'safe?' You're supposed to walk that road alone?" Jamie reasoned.

"To have to just go to work and no one can know, and you have to walk around having just lost your baby?... It's better, I think, to tell people and let them know, if something happens, why you're a complete walking zombie."

Jamie and Doug, 36, announced on Instagram that they're going to find out the baby's sex later this month.

While Doug is apparently "hoping for a boy," Jamie wrote November 17 on Instagram it really doesn't matter as long as her baby is growing.

"I truly don't care, which I always thought anyone who said that was lying [because] of course you just care. But after 18 months trying to conceive and a few losses in between -- I genuinely don't care. Just healthy and happy," Jamie insisted.

Jamie and Doug's baby on the way is due in May 2020.
