The CW has formally announced that America's Next Top Model, Cycle 8, the eighth edition of its popular Tyra Banks reality series, will debut Wednesday, February 28 at 8PM ET/PT with a special two-hour premiere episode.

Given the network had already previously announced that the new Top Model edition would debut following the completion of Beauty and the Geek 3's eight week run in Top Model's regular Wednesday night time period, the premiere date announcement comes as little surprise, with the only question being whether Top Model 8's premiere would, similar to last spring's debut of Top Model 6, be proceeded by a special updating the status of some of the show's previous contestants.

Following its special two-hour premiere, Top Model 8 will air regularly in the show's normal Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT time period.

One week after Top Model 8's premiere, The CW will debut another stiletto-heeled reality series -- Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll. The eight-episode series, which counts Top Model executive producer Ken Mok among its seven executive producers, will premiere Tuesday, March 6 at 9PM ET/PT.
