A woman with a "southern twang" has been making outrageous allegations against the couple in regard to their 1-year-old daughter, Grace, the New York Daily News reported.

The woman called the Daily News and the New York Administration for Children's Services, claiming to be a friend of the family and making unsupported allegations against the couple, the newspaper said.

The Hasselbecks released a statement to the Daily News denouncing the "malicious attempt to harass our family."

"These allegations have been fully reviewed by child protective authorities and medical professionals and found to be absolutely false," the statement said. "This matter has been turned over to the District Attorney's office for prosecution of the individual(s) responsible for the false accusation."

"The View's" Barbara Walters speculated the tormentor could be someone opposed to Hasselbeck's outspoken conservative views or "maybe somebody who wants the baby."
