The six remaining men received their long-awaited makeovers and the "blond gaggle" rid the competition of its final couple featuring a dark-haired female in last night's episode of The CW's Beauty and the Geek 3.

Andrea, a 23-year-old student and bartender from Kansas City, MO, and Matt, a 22-year-old MIT graduate and Pi master from Goldens Bridge, NY were the third couple eliminated from the show's third edition.  The pair competed in the season's third elimination challenge against Cecille, a 27-year-old bikini model from Santa Cruz, CA and Nate, a 21-year-old Harvard University student from Evergreen, CO.

Andrea had yet to be stumped in the elimination round until last night, when she missed both of her questions about business and marketing.  Cecille answered both of her questions right, and Nate clinched it for the duo when he identified Jay-Z as the founder of Rocca Wear clothing.

After last week's elimination round, which saw the "blond gaggle" of five beauties send Sheree and Piao home, Andrea knew that as the season's only remaining dark-haired outsider, she was in trouble.  "I know we're going back to the elimination round if we don't win," she said at the beginning of last night's episode.

She was right, but not before some fun was had when the guys received their makeovers.  The guys met briefly with their ladies, who played the role of fashion consultant, before being sent on a 30 minute shopping trip unaccompanied by the beauties.  Nate said he "takes pride in not conforming to trends," and knew he'd have to shave his beard and long hair.  Little did Nate know that the girls were back at the house discussing how he would be the "cutest" after the makeover, and Jennylee,  a 22-year-old model and Ultimate Fighting Championship ring girl from Sherman Oaks, CA admitted she had a "crush" on Nate.  Not all the guys were looking forward to their makeover.

"It just made me feel awful about my body type," said Mario, a 25-year-old writer from Bridgeport, WV.  "I do not think I'll be wearing these clothes with confidence."

When the guys revealed their new looks to the ladies, the makeovers were clearly a success.  Scooter, a 23-year-old Harvard graduate from Helena, MT described it as a "big self-esteem boost."  Drew, a 21-year-old Marquette University student and Trekker from Brookfield, IL said he had more confidence after the makeover than on his first day in the house.  Matt described it as "a turning point for the guys."  And even Mario, who just minutes earlier was doubting himself, said "to have the girls think I look good makes me feel like a whole different person," and described the makeover as "uplifting."  But Nate was the one who received rave reviews, sporting a soul patch instead of his beard.

"You can still see the twinkle in his eyes," said Jennylee of Nate.  "His personality is so great too, I just can't resist it."

Next it was down to business, as the contestants learned there would be only one challenge that both the guys and girls would participate in to determine who would be sent to elimination.  The guys would show-off their new looks in a charity auction, where a group of young women would bid on them and the geek that brought in the most money was declared the winner.  They were sold by the beauties, who had to promote their partner.  As the girls listed what characteristics of their guys that they thought were marketable, the geeks practiced their runway walk.  Nate even put on deodorant for the first time in his life, having to borrow a roll from Drew.  He described the feeling as "slimy."

"In the auction, things got off to a slow start, as Mario, Matt and Scooter all sold for $15 or less.  Drew, who said he never had girls fight over him before, sold for a more respectable $22.  But the bidding really shot-up for Nate, who brought-in $29 and only had Niels, a 25-year-old University of California electrical engineering graduate student from Silver Spring, MD, standing in his way of winning.  During the makeover, Niels went for jeans that made his butt "look good" and opted for a girls-sized T-shirt because it was the only one that fit him tight enough.  It worked, as he sold for $32 and won the competition for himself and Jennylee, his partner.

"I felt awesome," said Niels.  "We finally won our first challenge and it was because of teamwork."

The guys then went on their dates, which were all successful.  When they returned to the house, the girls questioned the guys on their night out, and Cecille remarked "you're not geeks anymore" -- something Nate took exception to.

"We were never geeks," he said to a group of the girls.  "We were all just people that came into a house.  Geek is so categorical.  I knew all the guys were beauties all along."

That awesome feeling Niels had after winning the challenge didn't last too long, as he and Jennylee had to send two teams to the elimination round.  Andrea and Matt were a given, but Jennylee lost it when Niels expressed his desire to send Nate and Cecille to join them, becoming aggravated with Niels and referring to him as "impossible."

"I know Jennylee is frustrated," said Niels.  "I have a feeling she's never run into a guy that will stand-up to her."

As Niels and Jennylee prepared to reveal their choices, it was very emotional, with several of the beauties and geeks crying.  Jennylee said "you guys have had a hard time here" before sending Matt and Andrea into the elimination round; the final straw for Andrea, who had a verbal tiff with Jennylee afterwards, denouncing the "blond gaggle."  Niels said while Jennylee didn't agree with him at all, he was sending Nate and Cecille to do battle with Matt and Andrea.

"[Nate's] the guy I'm closest to, but he's on a strong team," Niels explained to the group through tears.  "I hope this doesn't tarnish a lifelong friendship."

It wouldn't, as Nate and Cecille bested Andrea and Matt.

"Thank goodness Andrea's not coming back," said Jennylee as she watched the elimination round.  Andrea took the high road as she departed and said, "No matter what happened in the house, Matt and I learned a lot from each other."

With Matt and Andrea joining Sheree and Piao and Tori and Sanjay as the couples having been eliminated, five teams -- Nate and Cecille, Nadia and Mario, Jennylee and Niels, Erin and Drew, and Megan and Scooter -- remain in the running to win the show's $250,000 grand prize.  Beauty and the Geek 3 will continue on Wednesday, January 24 at 8PM ET/PT on The CW.
