The Bachelorette alum Blake Moynes has addressed why his engagement to Katie Thurston "went downhill" and whether their relationship is really finished.

Blake, 31, conducted a Q&A session with his followers Wednesday on Instagram Stories, and one person asked, "Tell us the actual story on how things went downhill with Katie...it seems so unfinished."

Blake firmly replied, "It's very finished."

The wildlife manager from Canada added of the breakup, "No need to go there again. It's an exhausting topic. Appreciate it."

Blake competed on The Bachelorette's sixteenth season starring Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams in 2020 followed by Season 17 starring Katie in 2021.

Blake proposed marriage to Katie during her The Bachelorette finale, which aired in August 2021.

Blake and Katie, however, fought too much and realized they weren't compatible once they took their relationship into the real world, and so they announced their breakup in late October 2021.

Katie found happiness after Blake with John Hersey, a San Diego-based bartender and one of her The Bachelorette Week 2 eliminees. The pair went Instagram official in November.

Katie faced backlash for having moved on from her former fiance too quickly with a "rebound," and Blake said on the "Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation" podcast in November that he felt "flabbergasted," shocked and "speechless" upon finding out about Katie's romance with John.

Blake also said he believed Katie had been emotionally cheating on him with John -- which Katie and John have both firmly denied in the press.

Katie and John have insisted they didn't see each other as more than friends until Katie became single again, and the pair admitted they considered hiding their relationship at first in fear of how Bachelor Nation might react to and judge them.

"We were already talking about how to not be [seen and] known. But it's also like, 'F-ck that.' I want to live our best life. I want to live in my happiness. I went through hell and back being on TV," Katie said in April.

Katie said she had determined that she owed it to herself to be in her "truest" and "happiest form."

"At the end of the day, I was like, 'Life is too short. I've gone through so much and I just want to be happy.' And so that's ultimately what we did; we owned our connection not knowing it would take us to this day," Katie told Kaitlyn Bristowe on her "Off the Vine" podcast.

Katie and John appeared to be madly in love and moved in together in early 2022, but they announced their split in June.

After her breakup made headlines, Katie shared in her own Q&A on Instagram Stories what went wrong.

"This is a simple yet complicated breakup given that we were best friends before dating," the former bank marketing manager explained.

"We are on good terms so just finding a healthy balance of space in order for closure. At the end of the day, you just want the person you love to be happy and you support whatever path they want to take to find that."

For Blake's part, he told Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti on their "The Ben & Ashley I: Almost Famous Podcast" in February that he was ready to put his romance with Katie behind him and put aside any hard feelings.

Blake also recently suggested he'd be open to dating both women from Bachelor Nation or someone without fame and a social-media following.

Blake sparked dating rumors with Love is Blind alum Natalie Lee in July, but it appears they were just working on a project together in Nevis to save sea turtles. Natalie reportedly took an interest in Blake's wildlife conservation efforts and decided to join one of his trips.
