'Idol 4' finalist Constantine Maroulis signs ABC TV sitcom deal

UPI News Service, 09/29/2005

"American Idol" loser Constantine Maroulis has signed to star in an ABC sitcom, People magazine reports.

The as yet unnamed show is being produced by Kelsey Grammer's company, Maroulis told People.

Maroulis, 30, who finished in sixth place last season, says "Idol" was the "best thing that's ever happened to me" and so was losing.

"I'm not cursed with that stigma of being the American Idol," he said.

In addition to the TV deal, Maroulis is also busy recording a solo album.
