The Voice began its live shows during Monday night's fourth-season episode.

The live "Playoffs" performance broadcast began with The Voice coaches Adam Levine and Usher's team members taking the stage and singing live for America's votes for the first time this season.

In addition to a "Team Adam" and a "Team Usher" group performance, each of the eight contestants performed individually "stripped down," according to The Voice host Carson Daly.

Adam's four-person team sang "Shake It Out" by Florence and the Machine together, while the four members of "Team Usher" joined forces to perform a rendition of Sam Sparro's "Black and Gold."

For "Team Adam," Amber Carrington from Rockwall, TX, sang "Stay" by Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko. Sarah Simmons from Memphis, TN performed "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan. Judith Hill from Pasadena, CA, took the stage with a rendition of Nina Simone's "Feeling Good." Caroline Glaser from Lawrence, KS, performed "The A Team" by Ed Sheeran.

For "Team Usher," Josiah Hawley from Ft. Smith, AR, sang "Starlight" by Muse. Vedo from Decatur, CA, performed "Against All Odds" by Phil Collins. Michelle Chamuel from Amherst, MA, took the stage with a rendition of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors." Cathia from Bronx, NY, sang "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston.

Also during the live show, Usher and Adam performed a take on "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder together.

The live "Playoffs" will continue tonight with another two-hour broadcast at 8PM ET/PT, featuring the teams of fellow The Voice coaches Blake Shelton and Shakira performing for home viewer votes.

Wednesday night's broadcast will be a live results show in which America's votes will advance two artists from each team -- as there are currently 16 artists still in the running -- to the Top 12, leaving each coach to then determine which of his or her two remaining artists he or she would like to save. The three chosen artists on each team will move on to next week's live shows.

Three-time The Voice coach Cee Lo Green, who was replaced by Usher this season, will also perform during Wednesday night's show.
