The Bachelor has reportedly settled on Sean Lowe as its choice for the franchise's upcoming seventeenth season.

Lowe, who competed on Emily Maynard's most recent edition of The Bachelorette and finished third in line for her heart behind runner-up Arie Luyendyk Jr. and winner Jef Holm, has been picked to be the next The Bachelor star over the other men the reality dating show had been considering, E! News reported.

"[It's] pretty much done. Sean is our choice," a source told E! News. "I think we finally got everyone to sign off. We're not in production for another couple weeks."

E! News reported earlier this month The Bachelor had only two men still in the running to star on the show. Lowe, a 28-year-old insurance salesman from Texas, was reportedly one of the possibilities, while Luyendyk Jr. was the other.

According to another E! News source, producers "briefly considered" Olympic swimmer and gold medalist Ryan Lochte after he had expressed interest in the position but decided to go in a different direction.
