Survivor and The Amazing Race will both be returning and airing back-to-back on CBS this Fall.

CBS has announced Survivor's 43rd season and The Amazing Race's 34th season will air one after the next on Wednesday nights in Fall 2022.

Survivor, hosted by Jeff Probst, will air from 8-9PM ET/PT on Wednesday nights in its usual timeslot.

The Amazing Race, hosted by Phil Keoghan, will air from 9-10PM ET/PT immediately following each Survivor broadcast.

CBS made the announcement when unveiling the network's 2022-2023 primetime programming lineup, but specific premiere dates for both series have yet to be disclosed.

Survivor premiered its 42nd season on March 9 and is currently airing on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT, with its latest episode having featured an elimination which determined the season's Final 5 castaways.

Survivor's finale will air on Wednesday, May 25 at 8PM ET/PT and conclude with either Maryanne Oketch, Jonathan Young, Mike Turner, Romeo Escobar, or Lindsay Dolashewich being crowned the "Sole Survivor" and champion of $1 million.

The Amazing Race's last edition debuted in early January and concluded with "Internet Personalities" Kim Holderness and Penn Holderness crossing the finish line in Los Angeles, CA, in first place and winning the $1 million grand prize.

The season took longer than usual to film due to a COVID-19 break, and once filming resumed, several teams dropped out of the running.

Kim and Penn defeated the runner-up team, "Flight Attendants" Raquel Moore and Cayla Platt, as well as the third-place finishers "Best Friends" Ryan Ferguson and Dusty Harris during the two-hour finale broadcast in early March.

The cast of both Survivor and The Amazing Race's new seasons will be announced at a later date.

It's unclear whether Survivor will maintain its shorter 26-day format -- which the show adopted for Seasons 41 and 42 due to scheduling issues related to the coronavirus pandemic -- going forward rather than its previous 39-day format.

Back in September 2021, Jeff told Entertainment Weekly, "The decision to change the game to 26 days came from the fact that we couldn't leave our bubble. So if we wanted to shoot two seasons, we had to do it back to back. For us to shoot two seasons of 39 days, back to back, along with our 14-day quarantine, would have meant nearly 100 days, and that was simply too long."

The change resulted in a faster and more grueling game, with more twists and turns but fewer Reward Challenges and supplies for the castaways at camp.

"We haven't decided if we will go back to 39 days," Jeff said at the time. "I will say that I'm optimistic that fans will find this new 26-day game to be very entertaining and Survivor-worthy."
