Can the infamous, as well as the famous and the once-famous, star in a reality TV show? We may soon find out. The Associated Press reports that Urban Television Network, a Fort Worth, TX-based cable channel, and Spiderboy International, a Miami-based production company, have reached an agreement to produce 13 one-hour episodes of a reality show focusing on American sports legend and accused killer O.J. Simpson.

The only problem with this show is that O.J. Simpson himself has not been approached by the companies making the show. WIthout O.J.'s participation, O.J.'s lawyer insists that the show could not be called "The O.J. Show" or anything similar. However, Simpson's involvement could be problematic. O.J. (who was acquitted of criminal murder charges) has a largely-unpaid $33.5 million judgment against him for causing the death of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, and any earnings that he receives could be seized to satisfy the judgment.

Whatever it's called, the planned show will feature archival footage of O.J., recorded by Spiderboy as O.J. appeared at hip-hop concerts throughout 2001 and 2002. We wish Urban TV and Spiderboy luck in producing a reality series using little more than footage of personal appearances. However, after listening to University of Southern California football coaches and athletes fawn over O.J. prior to the 2003 Orange Bowl game, we are not prepared to dismiss this show's chance of success.
