So You Think You Can Dance co-creator and lead judge Nigel Lythgoe says he's shocked to learn a sixth-season hopeful apparently neglected to wear an important piece of clothing for her audition.

Last night's So You Think You Can Dance audition broadcast failed to censor a sixth-season hopeful as she jumped into the air and rolled on the ground upon learning she had made it to the show's "Las Vegas Round" -- momentarily exposing her private parts to the show's cameras since she apparently wasn't wearing any underwear.

"None of us knew she did this," Lythgoe told TMZ on Wednesday.

"The show was always designed to expose talent, but not in this way."

The incident occurred after the hopeful -- who can only currently be identified by her audition tag, which was #22036 -- learned she would be going to the "Las Vegas Round" at the end of Day 1 of the sixth-season Atlanta auditions, which were held this summer.
