A Federal Communications Commission spokesman said the U.S. government agency is investigating allegations the game show "Our Little Genius" was rigged.

The Los Angeles Times said the FCC spokesman would not offer specifics regarding the potential outcomes of the probe, which was sparked by a parent's claims that "Our Little Genius" producers coached child participants ahead of filming.

"They asked us to evaluate topics and questions to be used for their show and they removed several topics that I found objectionable," the parent, whose identity was not released, alleges in the complaint.

Fox officials insist no children who appeared on the program were provided with answers ahead of time.

"Our Little Genius," which featured children between the ages of 6 to 12 answering questions in pursuit of cash prizes, was pulled from the Fox schedule before any episodes aired. Executives at Fox told the Times was unclear whether the game show will ever air on the network.
