A new British television show revolving around the escapades of a man losing his virginity is creating a buzz, and not all of it is favorable.

The head of Britain's MediaWatch told the Daily Mail Saturday that "Virgin School" was nothing but sensationalism and pandering.

"It is really time that Channel 4 grew up," said John Beyer.

Former Channel 4 chief executive Jeremy Isaacs bemoaned what he saw as an abandonment of the quality programming that had built 4's early success.

Channel 4 called "Virgin School" a "sensitive documentary" about the young man in his 20s -- as he spends three months at an Amsterdam "sex school" leading up to a final exam that is expected to bring in boffo ratings.
