American Idol eliminated Casey Abrams and determined its Top 5 tenth-season finalists during Thursday night's live results show broadcast on Fox.

Abrams, a 20-year-old from Wilmette, IL who currently resides in Idyllwild, CA, became the eighth finalist -- and third male finalist -- sent home from American Idol's tenth season after he received the fewest home viewer votes following Wednesday night's performance show, which featured the Top 6 finalists performing the songs of singer-songwriter Carole King.

"Honestly, I was happy to make it past the cattle call. The fact that I'm here is 100-gazillion times better than what I expected. I feel a sense of accomplishment. I feel like I did something that's never been done," Abrams said during a video montage that followed his ouster.

"The dream doesn't end; It keeps going. In fact, it maybe gets even better because I'm going to work harder and I'm going to do everything I can to get myself out there and bring jazz back

Scotty McCreery, a 17-year-old from Garner, NC, and Jacob Lusk, a 23-year-old from Compton, CA, were the other two finalists still in danger of elimination prior to American Idol host Ryan Seacrest's announcement of Abrams' exit, however he noted they were not necessarily the week's bottom three vote-getters as the results were being revealed in "random order."

Abrams -- who was one of the 10 finalists voted into the season's Top 13 finalists by home viewers -- received the fewest home-viewer votes of the 11 remaining finalists during the season's third live results show. However, Abrams was allowed to remain in American Idol's tenth-season competition when the show's judges unanimously decided to use their one-time "The Judges' Save" ability to prevent his ouster.

Abrams had received very positive feedback from Idol judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson following his performance of "Hi De Ho (That Old Sweet Roll)" on Wednesday's show.

"Yo, yo. Casey, Casey. So listen dog. So you know what I love, man? Every time, you always keep this show different. Like for one, the great Carole King songs, I mean, it's like this song was made for you... You doing a jazzy bluesy (rendition) took me back to New Orleans where I'm from -- my home state," Jackson told Abrams.

"I was like, 'Yo, this is like the Casey show and review.' You were walking up to the harmonica guy -- Dude, I just gotta say I'm excited every time you're up there because I know I'm always going to see something different and entertaining -- so I applaud you for that."

"Casey man, you definitely found your niche. You know, nestled in all this American Idol stuff man, you really worked the stage well. It was the best mother-loving show I've seen as you just said in the song. It was beautiful. And again, you made my scalp itch. It was so good!" Tyler said.

"You're definitely in your element with the musicians and sitting there and we get to see you play a little piano at the same time. I mean, the whole thing really worked. I'd like to see you loosen up a little bit more physically in your body. It feels like you're holding it in a little bit tight," Lopez added.

"Everything's so perfect about you and you're such a musician and such a great vocalist with such a special voice. But that's something I'd like to see. Just loosen up your legs a little bit."

"Less growl!" Jackson added.
