Charity thought her first kiss with Xavier was "almost too good to be true" on The Bachelorette, but his smooth and charming ways unfortunately reminded her of an ex-boyfriend who really hurt her.

Xavier changed Charity's mind once he opened up to her about his mother, his work and his passions in Washington, but then he admitted the idea of committing himself to one woman for the rest of his life really scared him.

"[An engagement] scares me because it's something I've never done before, and I want to do it once and I want to do it right. There has to be no doubt there," Xavier explained to the Bachelorette.

"I know I want to get engaged and I know I want to get married; it's a question of is that you?... I'm trying to gain any sense of clarity. I don't know what that thing is that's going to make me fall in love. It's just going to happen."

But after Charity won over Xavier's knitting friends and his beloved family during his hometown date, he told the Bachelorette that he was "falling in love" with her.

Charity said she really wanted to hear that from Xavier and so her feelings for him had "intensified times 100."

Charity shared in a confessional, "We're making sense of each other and now we're just elevating. I am walking away tonight feeling so good. He could be my husband!"

Until viewers discover whether Charity and Xavier are meant to be together, let's get to know this handsome bachelor a little better right now.

Below is a list of nine facts Reality TV World has compiled about The Bachelorette Season 20 contestant Xavier Bonner.

Xavier is "one tall glass of water," according to ABC

Xavier is a whopping six feet and six inches tall.

Xavier says that when people first see and meet him, they ask, "Do you play basketball?"

While Xavier may not be interested in playing basketball professionally, he can definitely dunk a basketball on the court!

The Bachelorette bachelor pursued a career in science, not sports

Xavier has worked as a graduate student research assistant in Biomedical Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since August 2018.

Xavier began his quest for higher education seven years ago when he thought, "Why not me?"

After two years of "triumphs and tribulations," according to Xavier's Instagram account, he became a PhD candidate in Spring 2020.

Xavier's Biomedical research is focused around virological and immunological problems.

Xavier shared in his casting video for The Bachelorette, "My mom suffers from an autoimmune disease, so I attribute my interest in science to her."

Xavier's mom suffers from multiple sclerosis.

Xavier's parents, who have been happily married for 30 years, embody the type of relationship he wants to find. His father is actually his mother's primary caregiver.

Xavier says he most admires his mom and wants to find a partner who can give their future children the same kind of love he had received as a kid.

ABC says that Xavier brings brains and charisma to a relationship

Xavier says he wants to get married and shower his significant other with compliments because he genuinely wants to see his partner happy. He has no problem being open and vulnerable with a woman.

Xavier is also well-rounded in that he plays the ukulele and even loves to knit.

But Xavier's future wife will have to be okay with the fact he's a self-declared "gamer" and loves playing video games in his free time.

Xavier played Rugby in college and minored in Mathematics

Xavier attended Morehouse College from 2013-2018. He graduated with a major in Physics and Computer Science and minored in Mathematics.

While in school, Xavier was a member of the Society of Physics Students, the Biophysical Society, and the Morehouse College Rugby Club. He was also the MBRS RISE Scholar and the Amgen Scholar.

Xavier then received his PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics in 2023. He played on the UNC Intramural Basketball team.

Charity rated Xavier her second-best kiss of Night 1

Part of the reason Charity gave her First Impression Rose to Brayden Bowers was because she thought he was the best kisser.

But Charity revealed on Us Weekly's "Here for the Right Reasons" podcast that "next in line would've probably been Xavier."

Charity gushed of Xavier and their first makeout session, "Me and Xavier's chemistry was, like, truly undeniable."

Charity also picked Xavier as her smartest bachelor in the bunch when dishing out superlatives on Live with Kelly and Mark.

The Bachelorette suitor reveals his fear when it comes to dating

Xavier says that he gives all of himself to a relationship and his fear is not having his strong feelings reciprocated from a woman he's dating.

In past relationships, Xavier claims he had to constantly ask for things he needed -- even on an emotional level.

Xavier wants a woman who is beautiful, honest and genuine, and he promises to give honesty and loyalty to his partner in return.

Xavier reveals some of his favorite things

Xavier loves going to the gym after he wakes up in the morning and blasting music into his ears, especially the song "Faneto" by Chief Keef, which really pumps him up, according to BachelorNation.com.

Xavier's last meal on earth would be his grandmother's Thanksgiving mac n' cheese, and his guilty pleasure is Ben and Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream.

The movie he's rewatched the most is Superbad, and his celebrity crush is Jorja Smith.

Charity explains her "struggle" with Xavier

Charity admitted she was very close to sending Xavier home during their one-on-one date in Washington during a July 27 appearance on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.

"I was in my head all day about that man in Washington. Xavier is such a contagious person, but like, at times, he has these tactics that I don't know if he's [used] in his past dating experience."

The Bachelorette star continued, "But it's like, for me, I'm craving a guy who can give emotional depth too, and have emotional intelligence."

Charity suggested that Xavier had some walls built up and wasn't forthcoming with information about himself, at least at first.

"I like asking questions that are going to challenge you, and I feel like, sometimes -- and we don't always see it, but we see it a little bit on the date in Washington -- he kind of deflects a little bit," Charity explained.

"And he uses flirtation," she added.

The podcast's co-host Joe Amabile joked about how Xavier appeared to be hitting on her all the time when he didn't even need to.

"Yeah!" Charity agreed.

"He uses flirtation as a way to kind of avoid the conversation, and I picked up on that. And so that's what I was referring to when I said, 'He kind of reminds me of my ex,' who could never get past a certain point."

Charity knew Xavier was boyfriend material, but for those reasons, she wasn't sure if he could be her husband.

"I didn't know if he could get there, but then obviously he got extremely vulnerable... and so hearing about his mom and hearing about his pursuit of a career -- and why he feels like that's his purpose -- that really did resonate a lot with me," Charity explained.

"We talked a lot more about family and also what his goals are in life. And so yeah, that was honestly the saving grace for him, because otherwise, I think he probably would've been out of there!"

Charity elaborated on how Xavier's saving grace was "the fact he was willing to try and willing to see" things through.
