The Bachelorette stars Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey have explained why Jordan Vandergriff didn't get a chance to date Gabby after Rachel dumped him during their one-on-one date.

Earlier in The Bachelorette's nineteenth season, Rachel embarked on her first one-on-one date of the season with Jordan V., a handsome 27-year-old drag racer from Georgia.

Rachel enjoyed a "spectacular" Zero-Gravity flight experience with Jordan V., but she acknowledged something was "missing" during their dinner that night, and so she dumped the bachelor and sent him home.

During a recent appearance on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast co-hosted by Becca Kufrin and Michelle Young, Rachel and Gabby broke down Jordan V.'s elimination and why he wasn't given the option to stay on the show and pursue a romance with Gabby.

"I'm really glad you asked that because of course it was crazy," Rachel said.

"No one ever expected that scenario. We didn't have a plan for it. But as it was all happening, I was having a breakdown and I was crying."

The 26-year-old flight instructor revealed that she called Gabby on the phone, in a panic, in the middle of her dinner date with Jordan V.

"I did call up Gabby. I think people saw a little scene of her, because I woke her up from a deep, deep sleep with my call, but we definitely had a full conversation about it and just decided it was the best decision for both of us," Rachel explained.

Becca, who starred on The Bachelorette's fourteenth season, asked if Rachel had told Gabby that she wasn't feeling Jordan and then asked if Gabby would be interested in dating him.

"Going into it, I feel like our [Week 1] one-on-ones were so early that Rachel was like, 'I'm going to take Jordan, is that okay with you?'" Gabby shared.

"And I'm like, 'Totally. I know he's here for you. You do that.' And then it was the same with [my first one-on-one date with Nate Mitchell]."

Gabby elaborated, "Our early one-on-ones, they were safe. We knew the other person wasn't going to get upset about it because they didn't feel a connection with them."

Gabby said Rachel therefore "didn't even really need" to check-in with her about Jordan V.

"I'm going to support her no matter what and I was like, 'Oh yeah, it wasn't even a thought.'" Gabby said.

"I can understand on the watch back why people were so confused, but I think our friendship is so good and always comes first that it was just so unspoken, like, it wasn't even a thing."

Last month, The Bachelorette alums Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo joked with Jordan V. how he must have had no game to get eliminated during the first one-on-one date of the season.

"I always thought I at least had a little bit," Jordan said with a laugh.

"I think at the end of the day, [Rachel] just didn't feel the connection that she was looking for, and that's okay. There's somebody out there for everybody. It just turns out that I wasn't her person."

Jordan, however, suggested he probably wouldn't have been interested in being thrown into Gabby's dating pool of guys after being dumped by Rachel.

"I think I went into the experience knowing that I was going for Rachel. That's kind of how I went into it," Jordan said.

"[But] Gabby is a great girl. I had a lot of things that I wanted to talk to Gabby about, actually, like her relationship with her grandfather. I can relate to that very much so."

But Jordan concluded, "I really went in for Rachel, and I was going to give all of my effort to her. And I did that."

Although Jordan's journey on The Bachelorette's nineteenth season was cut short, he said it was "a great honor" to accompany the flight instructor on her first one-on-one date.

The Bachelorette currently airs on Monday nights at 8PM ET/PT, and Gabby and Rachel each have seven men remaining heading into Episode 5 of the season.
