The 34-year-old singer and Nashville Star judge will be participating in Dancing with the Stars' upcoming eighth season, In Touch Weekly reported Wednesday.

"Jewel is so excited about being on the show. She loves to dance," one of the singer's friends told In Touch. "She’s thrilled because of what the show has done for past contestants’ bodies."

Jewel served as a judge and mentor for last summer’s Nashville Star edition on NBC after previously serving as the host of the show’s 2007 fifth season on USA Network.

The singer joins former Jackass star Steve-O and Denise Richards: It's Complicated star Denise Richards as celebrities who will reportedly compete on Dancing with the Stars' eighth season, which will premiere with a two-hour performance episode on Monday, March 9 at 8PM ET/PT.

ABC will officially announce Dancing with the Stars' eighth-season celebrity cast during the network's primetime programming block on February 8.
