Professor upset over 'Tommy Lee Goes to College' editing splice

A University of Nebraska-Lincoln English professor says producers of NBC's "Tommy Lee Goes to College" spliced tape to make her the butt of a penis joke.

Professor Frances Kaye told the Lincoln (Neb.) Journal Star producers broke an agreement they made when she reluctantly agreed to let the Motley Crue drummer join her class for his reality show.

She said they begged her to bring up Lee's autobiography during her Native American literature class but when she did, they took a comment she made about his chapter on childbirth and made it look like she was talking about the rocker's penis.

"I realized this was a stupid reality show, but I didn't expect to be this grossly misrepresented," she told the Journal Star.

Overall, however, UNL officials said they were pleased with the show's portrayal of the university and the publicity it has received as a result.
