Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee says he went mostly for laughs in his new reality TV series, "Tommy Lee Goes to College."

In the series, which premieres at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday on NBC, high school dropout Lee attends the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, taking three classes, auditioning for the Cornhusker marching band and starting his own fraternity, the House of Lee.

"I can't get into the details of what happens," he says, "but it's an unbelievably, pretty cool trip watching someone like me kinda struggle going to college. There's some funny moments, and I had a great time doing it 'cause I never really did get a chance to go to college."

Lee recently released a solo album, "Wasteland: The Ride," and is also on the road with Motley Crue until mid-October in North America and then in November in Japan.
