Nicole Richie to star in new cheeky '#CandidlyNicole' reality series on VH1 this summer

Nicole Richie's run on reality TV isn't over yet.
VH1 has announced it's ordered #CandidlyNicole, a new reality series based on Richie's entertaining tweets, and the series will premiere on Thursday, July 17.
#CandidlyNicole derives from the successful AOL online series with the same title. Richie, the former The Simple Life star and one of three Fashion Star mentors, was voted one of the "best Twitter feeds" by Time magazine because of her humorous and uncensored input on everyday things.
"Her one-of-a-kind, tongue-in-cheek commentary inspires people to laugh, learn and shake their head in wonderment," according to the network.
The series will feature Richie giving her amusing point of view -- similar to what's shown on social media for more than four million followers to see -- and detail her day-to-day life and insights on style, relationships, work, and play.
For example, the reality TV star and author will be talking with her dad about who his favorite daughter is on Father's Day as well as meeting with a doctor about removing her self-described "tramp stamp" tattoo.
"Nicole's sharp, acerbic sense of humor and broad audience appeal make #CandidlyNicole a perfect fit for the VH1 brand," network executive Susan Levison said in a statement. "Viewers will enjoy her unique point of view and earnest look at pop culture as well as her fearless exploration of anything and everything taboo."
NBC canceled Fashion Star after only two seasons in last spring. The Simple Life, which also starred Paris Hilton for several seasons, premiered in 2003 and concluded in August 2007.
VH1 has picked up eight 30-minute episodes of #CandidlyNicole, which will be produced by Telepictures and World of Wonder. Richie, Levison, Michael Baum, Carrie Franklin, Jill Holmes, and Kristen Kelly will serve as executive producers.
