Married at First Sight Johnny Lam has revealed what sparked his first sexual encounter with Bao nearly three weeks into the marriage after Bao had shown him very little physical affection up to that point.

During the September 15 episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Johnny watched back a Season 13 clip in which he and Bao discussed "the birds and the bees" and when they first learned about sex.

Johnny shared how he had learned about sex from Hentai, which is essentially "Japanese animation with no clothes," according to Johnny, which made Bao laugh.

Bao commented on how her husband is "adorable" and she felt very lucky to be married to him, and then a kiss on the couch moved into the bedroom, where Bao could be heard behind closed doors suggesting she and Johnny should remove their microphones.

When asked what it was like watching that footage back, Johnny revealed, "It's like watching something blossom, like love grow and you finally see the little plant leaves coming out."

Johnny and Bao seemed to be having the same arguments over and over again in their first couple weeks of marriage, and Johnny couldn't put his finger on the disconnect. He said he was missing a spark that he hoped would eventually turn into fire in a marriage.

After Johnny and Bao passed the 16-day mark of their marriage, Married at First Sight's experts Pastor Calvin Roberson, Dr. Pepper Schwartz and Dr. Viviana Coles asked each of the show's five married couples to discuss what makes them fall in love.

"This intimacy exercise couldn't have come at a better time," Johnny shared.

Bao told Johnny during the exercise that she needs common ground with her husband, who also must accept her for who she is -- flaws included -- and Johnny shared how intimacy is very important to him and he wants to feel an urge to be intimate right when the lights go out.

"You're like, 'I see why they matched us!'" Unfiltered host Jamie Otis pointed out.

"Uh huh!" Johnny agreed.

Johnny went on to explain what caused the apparent breakthrough in his relationship with Bao.

"I think sharing -- when she asked me how I learned about sex, oh God, and the fact that she didn't judge me for it [and] she was actually kind of turned on by it, green means go!" Johnny said. "So let's go!"

Jamie joked that Johnny had been looking for a green light for a while, and Johnny admitted, "I have."

Johnny joked that no one should Google Hentai, which often takes the form of an octopus with tentacles.

"You voiced before how your kisses with Bao felt really platonic. Is it safe to say you're past that?" ask Jamie, who starred on Season 1 of Married at First Sight and is still married to her match, Doug Hehner.

"I think so. It's really hard to go from someone you've never looked at in that way [to being totally attracted]," Johnny confirmed.

"At first it feels awkward, but the more you do it and the more you get to know someone, I think the intimacy catches up and, you know, eventually those kisses feel a little bit better than what they did before."

After Bao and Johnny apparently had sex, Bao said Johnny had removed the pillow barricade between them and she was working her way into his heart "like a parasite."

And later, Bao surprised Johnny with a date night by turning their apartment into a bar scene complete with different beers and darts.

"Johnny and I may or may not have consummated our marriage," Bao teased with a big smile. "All I can say right now is we are both really, really happy -- really, really happy!"

And Johnny described his romantic evening with Bao as explosive.

While playing a flirtatious game of darts, Johnny made a wager with Bao that if he won the game, they'd have to do whatever he wanted in the bedroom that night and vice versa. Johnny ended up winning the game and presumably got what he wanted.

Johnny subsequently surprised his wife with a "Paint Night" in their apartment, which Bao took very seriously much to Johnny's dismay.

"It just feels very task-oriented, strictly business," Johnny explained.

"It's the same old Bao, but after two successful nights and romance coming from both of them -- intimacy in the bedroom, fireworks -- I'm going to give it my all because anything feels possible."

Married at First Sight's thirteenth season, which currently airs on Wednesday nights at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime, also stars Gil Cuero and Myrla Feria, Rachel and Jose, Brett and Ryan, and Zack and Michaela.
