Bachelor in Paradise viewers last saw Casey, a 36-year-old advertising creative director from Miami Beach, FL, leaving the resort in Mexico in an ambulance after fainting and landing hard on his ankle.

"I had three different broken bones. So your ankle is made up of three different bones -- all broke. All three bones were broken, which is just this insane, unexpected bad break, as the expression goes," Casey told Becca Kufrin and Michelle Young on a recent episode of their "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.

"I had three weeks before I could even get surgery because the swelling was so bad. They said they wouldn't be able to put my wound back in place."

Casey said the surgeon had to wait for the swelling to go down before anything could be done about it.

"I spent just about a little over a month, 23 hours a day in bed -- leg up, couldn't do anything," Casey revealed.

"Thankfully my loving parents took me in and took care of me during that time, and I couldn't be more grateful."

Casey said once the swelling got better, he was finally able to put his foot down on the floor.

"I had the surgery, came back to Miami. About a week-and-a-half ago, I was expecting to get the news that I can start walking on a cane again," Casey said.

"They did X-rays, [but] they said, 'One of your bones has shifted just a little bit and we really feel like we can make sure you're 100 percent long run if we give you another surgery.'"

Casey therefore showed off his cast following his second surgery.

"I'm in a cast," Casey noted. "I think this is four months and three days since [the injury], is the exact count."

Casey has therefore been getting around on a knee scooter since he still can't walk.

"It's the accessory of the summer, now scooting into Fall!" Casey joked. "Everybody's loving it!"

Becca said she couldn't believe a little drama between Brittany Galvin, Peter Izzo and himself turned into all of this.

"Yes, quite an unexpected turn of events," Casey noted. "And I'm just really sad. But at the same time, thank God I didn't hit my head on anything. When it comes to fainting, you don't know what's going to happen."

Casey shared how he's "never had a fainting spell before" and the incident happened "in a matter of seconds."

"The last thing I remember is turning to [Rodney Mathews] and saying, 'I feel dizzy. I think I'm going to pass out.' And then I woke up on the ground," Casey told Becca and Michelle.

Casey also recalled the details of what happened after he went down hard at the Paradise resort in Mexico.

"So I fainted, I opened my eyes, I don't realize that my ankle is just destroyed. I actually tried to get up and that's when I said, 'Oh my God.' I see my ankle and it's almost as if you had wedged a football into my ankle," Casey revealed.

"They quickly put me in the ambulance, which I did not fit in. I'm 6'3" and I literally had a third of my body hanging over. So they had a sweet EMT holding [up] my ankle."

Casey recalled there being a 30-minute drive down unpaved roads, which caused his legs to go "up and down."

"If it wasn't so painful, it would've been the funniest thing you've seen," Casey said.

Once Casey arrived to a hospital in Mexico, doctors apparently put him under anesthesia.

"They did a reduction on my ankle, which is to basically put it back in place," Casey shared.

"They wrapped me up, put me in a split, threw me on an airplane, and I get home. The doctors do a CT scan."

Casey revealed on Instagram Stories earlier this week that he actually had three surgeries on his ankle.

On Bachelor in Paradise's eighth season, Casey warned Brittany that Peter had called her "a clout chaser" and said she wanted to date only date men with large Instagram followings. Casey wanted Brittany to know that Peter had essentially accused her of being on the show for the wrong reasons.

Brittany and her girlfriends Jill Chin and Genevieve Parisi therefore confronted Peter on the beach and asked him to leave, which escalated the drama to the point of yelling.

As Casey watched the fight unfold from a distance, he said he felt lightheaded.

"I just feel so much stress right now... Everyone is pissed off. I didn't think my actions would have that much of an effect. It's just eating me up inside," Casey told the cameras, before hitting the ground hard.

Casey informed the medics how his episode was probably circumstantial rather than physical because he'd been feeling "overwhelmed" by his surroundings and responsible for cocktail-party chaos.

After the episode aired, some Bachelor in Paradise viewers accused Casey of exaggerating his injury so he could leave the beach early in order to avoid the embarrassment of being denied a rose at the second Rose Ceremony of the season.

"I think most people don't know how severe the injury was, and everyone deserves a good roast -- I just wish y'all knew the whole story!" Casey wrote on Instagram Stories.

Casey also clapped back when a person slammed him for spreading "rumors," presumably about Peter.

"Is it a rumor if it's 100% true?" Casey wrote to his followers, referring to how Peter had definitely talked badly about Brittany behind her back.

"Wouldn't you want to know if you're being slandered?" he added.

Casey also reposted a fan's tweet who wrote, "The way [Andrew Spencer]'s first instinct was to call out Casey for telling Brittany, not Peter for saying horrible things about her, was not cool."

On Monday night's episode, Andrew called Casey out for being a pot-stirrer and drama starter by snitching on Peter. Andrew seemed disappointed and frustrated by Casey's alleged attempt to secure a rose for himself, given Brittany's rose had been up for grabs.

Once Casey was escorted out of Paradise, Brittany gave her rose to Andrew.

Casey was appreciated for his witty and funny commentary throughout the Bachelor in Paradise season.

Prior to his Bachelor in Paradise stint, Casey competed for Michelle's heart on The Bachelorette's eighteenth season in 2021.
