90 Day Fiance: The Other Way debuted in early June with Paul planning to travel from Louisville, KY, to Brazil, where he could be with his then-pregnant wife.

When filming began, Karine was alone in Brazil and missing Paul. She not only needed Pail's emotional support, but she was hoping Paul could support her financially as well.

90 Day Fiance: The Other Way follows American citizens moving across the globe and living in foreign countries for the sake of love and their future spouses.

Unlike Paul and Karine -- who wed on the latest season of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days -- the unmarried couples have 90 days to wed or else the Americans must return home to the states.

Paul and Karine met online before meeting face to face in Brazil.

Paul took a risk for love by traveling to Brazil because he feared the crime and the bugs, but his priority was getting to know Karine better.

The couple liked each other but struggled with communication. They even needed a language-translation phone app just to understand what each other had to say.

However, the couple slowly fell in love, and then they got married in 2017. Paul and Karine's wedding aired on the TLC franchise the following year.

But Karine and Paul's romance has been anything but easy. For instance, Karine, suffered through two devastating miscarriages -- one of which was documented on Season 2 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days.

It was difficult for the pair to move on from that heartbreak, but Paul and Karine happily announced they had another baby on the way in October 2018. That same month, Paul revealed the couple was expecting a baby boy.

As fans probably recall, 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days chronicled Paul and Karine fighting often, and it seemed like the baby was the only thing holding their relationship together.

Karine even threatened to divorce Paul given he had trouble trusting his wife and sometimes made her feel bad about herself.

Tension escalated between the couple on the show's Tell All reunion special last year, when Paul admitted he wanted Karine's child to get a paternity DNA test once born to prove he's the biological father.

Karine obviously wasn't happy to hear her husband suspected she was sleeping around and being unfaithful.

During the premiere of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, Paul, 35 at the time, explained he had been working odd jobs on a farm to save up money for his wife and unborn child.

Paul wanted to be by Karine's side throughout her pregnancy more than anything, especially considering the pair feared another miscarriage or pregnancy complications in general.

Paul was hoping Karine could give birth in the United States, but since he didn't make $26,000 in annual income and couldn't convince his mother -- or seemingly anyone else -- to sponsor Karine, Paul realized he must move to Brazil in order for his marriage to survive.

Paul was frustrated he couldn't support his wife and baby from America, and so he prepared himself for a life in Brazil -- a permanent stay.

Paul insisted he was making "a huge sacrifice" for Karine by leaving his friends and family behind. He wasn't looking forward to adjusting to Brazilian culture and learning a new language.

After packing up about five huge bags of baby supplies and his own belongings, Paul was ready to travel to Brazil.

However, he missed his flight due to an embargo requiring he only check two bags.

Paul went home, repacked everything, and told Karine via FaceTime that he could probably travel to see her in a month or so from that point. But his pregnant wife complained and didn't hide her disappointment and frustration.

Paul immediately came to regret his decision and therefore called the airline to explain his dilemma. As a result, he ended up grabbing a seat on a flight the very next day (with only a couple of jam-packed bags).

When Paul left his mother to head to the airport, it was an emotional moment for the both of them. Paul felt guilty about leaving his loved ones behind, but he treated Karine as his priority.

"No matter where I go, I'm torn between two worlds," Paul said in an episode towards the beginning of the season.

"I wish I could have both in one place, but right now, it's not possible unfortunately."

Paul was later shown arriving in Brazil to see Karine on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way.

"Moving to Brazil and never coming back is nerve-wracking. I love my parents and my family, but I want to be with Karine and I want to be there to help raise my baby when it's born," Paul told the cameras.

Karine, 23, was seven months pregnant at the time and had spent the last three months alone prior to Paul showing up. She wanted her relationship with Paul to improve, so she began taking classes to learn English as the first step.

Karine, however, didn't feel Paul was making much of an effort to work and earn money. She feared Paul wouldn't be able to provide for his family, and Karine was well aware babies are expensive.

Karine was also upset Paul had canceled his flight, and Karine's brother Bonnie shared with the cameras that Karine spent a lot of time crying in her bedroom.

Bonnie didn't really like Paul and considered him to be "an unbalanced person." Bonnie wanted Paul to learn Portuguese and said Karine's husband had the tendency to turn into "a demon" at times.

Karine insisted she truly loved Paul but needed him to "stop the drama," become a good father, and step up to the plate financially.

After Karine ignored Paul's calls, his flight landed late into the night.

Paul surprised Karine at her apartment, and she appeared overjoyed.

"I love you," Paul said, before Karine thanked him for coming and hugged him tight.

Paul explained he didn't have much luggage with him, but Karine was disappointed to find out what Paul had chosen to bring. They lacked baby supplies, and Karine told the cameras Paul just didn't use his head sometimes.

Karine accused Paul of acting impulsively, and he felt like he just couldn't do anything right in his wife's eyes. Paul wondered if he'd ever be enough for Karine.

On a recent episode of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, Paul vented about how he didn't receive the homecoming he had hoped for.

Since Paul didn't have a job, he admitted every single penny was precious to them, so shopping for more baby supplies wasn't exactly a joyous occasion.

Paul also wasn't sure whether he would be granted residency in Brazil due to his criminal record, and if he ended up being denied for any reason, he wouldn't be able to obtain a work permit to make money.

Karine just hoped Paul would be able to find a job and support his family.

But Paul later discovered his application for permanent residency had been denied. In a letter Paul had received, he was accused of committing a crime of terrorism.

Paul insisted he was not guilty of any such crime, and he couldn't believe it. He was apparently only given 10 days to stay in Brazil.

"Karine is going to be heartbroken. She's going to be just shocked. I only have 10 days to deal with this and then I need to leave the country," Paul said in a confessional.

"I don't want to cause unnecessary drama and then cause her stress and cause problems with the baby. I don't know what to do at this point. I really don't."

Paul then took off running and swearing from the film crew.

During the latest episode, Paul wondered if the police had him confused with someone else, because he was outraged to discover he had been accused of an act of terrorism as well as war crimes -- both of which Paul completely denied.

Paul therefore met with an attorney to get to the bottom of things and have some Portuguese in the letter translated for him, and Paul quickly learned his residency had been denied because he had been charged with "terroristic threatening of the third degree."

"Ohh, that's a misdemeanor charge. I was accused of threatening somebody that I was going to slash their tires," Paul explained.

Paul claimed to the cameras that 13 years ago, he arrived home from work and discovered his girlfriend was inside with another guy. Paul therefore threatened to slash the man's tires and "made some angry comments."

The attorney explained a charge such as terroristic threatening does not exist in Brazil, but once translated into Portuguese, it sounds like a charge related to terrorism.

The attorney therefore said he and Paul must explain to agents of the federal police that what Paul had been charged with back in the United States was not an act of terrorism but rather a normal threatening charge.

Paul asked what his options were, and the attorney said it was going to take a lot of work to appeal and ultimately change the decision. Paul was shocked because he thought there was a chance he may be denied over his arson charge -- but not a misdemeanor terroristic threatening charge.

Paul vented about how his wife in Brazil was pregnant but he wasn't allowed to stay there, nor was she allowed to move to the United States.

The attorney predicted it could take a week, a month or up to a year to reach a solution. Paul figured it was going to be "a serious waiting game" and he could only hope for the best.

So are Paul and Karine still together and still a married couple?

Despite the issues that have plagued their relationship, Karine and Paul are definitely still an item and married.

Paul shared a family photo of Karine, the baby and himself at a cookout on July 4.

The couple has been posting photos of each other on Instagram Stories for weeks.

Not only are they making cameo videos together for money, but Karine also shared a few funny images of Paul on the couch with their son.

Paul and Karine's adorable infant son, Pierre Martins Staehle, was born in Brazil in March.

And the latest news is that Paul and Karine are now living as a couple in the United States! That's right, Karine is in America.

Eyewitnesses took photos of Paul and Karine at the airport together in Louisville, Kentucky in mid-June.

And then Karine confirmed her location by posting photos on her Instagram Stories of Paul and herself visiting local attractions in Louisville.

Paul, Karine, their baby, and Paul's mother all posed for a picture in front of the entrance of the Louisville Zoo.

And in addition to sharing a photo of a gorilla at the zoo, Karine also posted a picture of exterior of Louisville's Hard Rock Cafe, suggesting the couple also visited the Fourth Street Live entertainment and shopping complex downtown.

Back in February, Paul had revealed in his Instagram Stories that Karine had received a CR-1 spousal visa.

So after welcoming their first child together on March 22, it appears Karine and her son officially moved to the United States.

Paul gushed to Us Weekly shortly after his baby was born that he's "very happy" and "very excited" to be a father.

"I'm also very nervous and want to do everything the best that I can and do everything right," Paul told Us.

"Everyone keeps asking how it feels to be a dad. Anyone can make a baby, but going through the day-to-day process of being a father is going to be a new experience. I'm very happy, very honored and very privileged and I want to make sure I do my absolute best for Pierre."

Paul and Karine are definitely not hiding their relationship status considering Paul's Instagram bio reads, "Married to @staehlekarine," along with an emoji of a couple and their child.

Karine's Instagram profile also has Paul in her main photo and reads, "Casada com [Paul]" in her bio at the top, which means she's "married with" Paul.

A picture on Paul's Instagram from late May shows Karine and himself dressed up for what appears to be a date night at Moai Restobar, a restaurant in Brazil.

Paul's mother also visited the couple in Brazil earlier that month. Paul posted a video on Instagram of his mother flying home on American Airlines in May.
