The last season of The Family Chantel, which wrapped in September 2022, ended with Pedro hitting his breaking point in his marriage and ultimately deciding to file for divorce from a devastated and confused Chantel.

Pedro also accused Chantel of stealing the money they had been saving in a shared account and demanding it back. Chantel, however, believed it was her money and Pedro had taken advantage of her.

Chantel then changed the locks of the home she had shared with Pedro, and -- feeling alone and desperate for support -- asked her sister Winter Everett and mother Karen Everett to move in with her.

The final chapter of The Family Chantel will "bring us to the end of this couple's story," according to TLC.

Nine months after the finale filmed, both Chantel and Pedro will be desperate to move on from one another.

"As their divorce inches closer to the finish line, accusations and old resentments make any kind of agreement no easy feat," TLC teased.

Chantel and Pedro must make difficult choices, such as whether to sell their house and who will get to keep what possessions.

Given the pair are furious and resentful of each other, arriving at agreements and solutions is "almost impossible" for the estranged spouses.

"While both believe they are on the right side of this divorce, each family is intensely feuding as they fight to defend their own," TLC shared of the upcoming season.

"From cultural clashes and language barriers to secrets revealed, this final chapter promises to deliver highly charged moments until the very last minute when the families meet face to face for one last time."

In the trailer of The Family Chantel's final season, Pedro says he's about to see Chantel for the first time in nine months, and Chantel admits, "Going through this divorce has been the hardest time of my life."

Pedro believes the goal of Chantel's family had been to "ruin" his life in America, and he vents in a confessional, "F-ck them. F-ck all of them."

After Chantel and Pedro sit down with what appears to be a divorce or immigration lawyer, Chantel laments, "I will never forget how it feels to be betrayed by someone that you love so much. And now, he's going to get what's coming!"

Footage then flashes to the Dominican Republic, with Pedro explaining how Chantel was the first person he had dated and had sex with.

"Right now, now that I'm divorced, I want to be free!" he says, before appearing to hit on his sister's Nicole Jimeno's best friend, Coraima.

Chantel then discovers a photo of Pedro and Coraima smiling together online, and Chantel's mother Karen Everett laughs out loud and notes, "I knew something was up!"

Karen continues to tell the cameras, "I've had it up to here with seeing how hurt Chantel is. I have to protect my baby -- by any means necessary."

Karen then looks into hiring a private investigator, and Pedro's mother Lidia Jimeno, meanwhile, claims Pedro's in-laws have no idea whom they're dealing with.

Later in the trailer, Chantel travels to Santo Domingo, saying, "All of this lying and all of this deceiving all ends now!"

Pedro proceeds to tell Chantel that if she wants to believe he had used her, she's entitled to her opinion, and then Chantel cries, "F-ck you, Pedro!"

Chantel eventually screams at Pedro, "You were having sex with another woman!"

But Pedro argues, "I was in love with you."

Chantel and Pedro got married in March 2016, even thought Chantel's whole family was questioning his intentions and if he was just looking to move to the United States in order to make money and provide for his mother and sister in the Dominican Republic.

Pedro filed for divorce on May 27, 2022, revealing that he and Chantel had separated one month earlier. He claimed their marriage was "irretrievably broken," TMZ reported last summer.

When Pedro filed for divorce, he reportedly also filed an emergency motion on the same day, claiming Chantel had withdrawn $257K from their joint business account without his approval.

Chantel had allegedly taken the money only five days before they separated in April and transferred it to an account created in her and Winter's name.

Pedro claimed he had attempted to reach a resolution with Chantel in private but was unsuccessful, and so he asked the judge to make Chantel transfer the money to a joint account so they can split the money up legally in their divorce proceedings.

Chantel and Pedro had also filed a mutual restraining order in May 2022.

According to legal documents Chantel had filed in early July 2022 in Gwinnett County, GA, Chantel claimed adultery was the reason for her divorce from Pedro, Entertainment Tonight reported last year.

Chantel also accused Pedro of "cruel treatment" by "physical domestic violence, as well as mental pain."

The nurse reportedly said at the time her marriage was "irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation," and she asked the court to equally distribute the material debt.

Prior to the Season 1 premiere of The Family Chantel in July 2019, Chantel and Pedro had originally appeared on Season 4 of 90 Day Fiance, followed by stints on Seasons 2, 3 and 4 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?.
