Apparently a The Simple Life season wouldn't be complete if Fox didn't miraculously find a "lost episode" of the Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie reality series when it was looking for a ratings boost. Therefore with the all-important November sweeps ratings period in full swing and a budding new hit reality series looking for some extra exposure on its schedule, Fox will air a special "lost" episode of this season's The Simple Life 2: Road Trip on Wednesday, November 17 at 8:30PM ET/PT.

In addition to featuring some never-before-seen footage from Summer 2004's successful second season of The Simple Life, the "lost" episode will include interviews with the families and employers who hosted Paris and Nicole as well as a sneak peak at The Simple Life 3: Interns, the currently-filming third season of the series.

This marks the second-straight season in which Fox has cobbled together an additional "lost" episode of the series. Following the conclusion of December 2003's initial six-episode season, the network aired additional "lost" episode of the series as a lead-in boost to the second episode of its then nascent My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance series.

This time around the beneficiary of Fox's programming strategy will be another new Fox reality series -- the recently debuting Nanny 911. For Fox's benefit, we hope the strategy works better the second time around -- last winter's "lost" episode proved to be a ratings dud, drawing only 7.7 million viewers and finishing fourth in its time period. Fiance's second episode proven to be a ratings hit despite the weak lead-in however, drawing 13.3 million viewers and a 6.2/14 in Adults 18-49.

While Fox has yet to announce a formal broadcast date, The Simple Life 3 is expected to air sometime this winter.
