The 36-year-old rapper said Tuesday that he had decided to postpone several Yeezus tour dates to concentrate on his next album.

"Due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Australia," RocNation said in a release.

People who held tickets to West's May 2 - May 11 shows in Australia will now have the opportunity to see him in September. Fans who can't make it to new tour dates in September will have the price of their tickets reimbursed.

West released his sixth-studio album, Yeezus, last year. His seventh album is due out in mid-2014.
