The Amazing Race eliminated Idries Abdur-Rahman and Jamil Abdur-Rahman during Sunday night's second broadcast of the CBS reality competition's 22nd season.

The "Twin Doctors" became the second team eliminated from the around-the-world competition after they arrived at the Race's second Pit Stop at Motu Tapu, the most photographed island in the South Pacific, in last place.

"We gave it our best effort. We didn't achieve our goal but we gave it our best effort, and I think once the sting wears off, we'll be able to rest easy with that. The Amazing Race was truly, even though it was short for us, the adventure of a lifetime and it was awesome. It was awesome," Jamil said following his team's ouster.

The second episode of The Amazing Race's 22nd edition began with the Race's 10 remaining teams starting off the leg at Motu Cafe in Bora Bora.

The season's 10 remaining teams are Idries and Jamil, "Newlyweds" Max Bichler and Katie Bichler, "Roller Derby Moms" Mona Egender and Beth Bandimere, "Hockey Brothers" Bates Battaglia and Anthony Battaglia, "Married Couple" Chuck McCall and Wynona McCall, "Father and Son" David O'Leary and Connor O'Leary, "Friends and Country Singers" Caroline Cutbirth and Jennifer Kuhle, "Friends and YouTube Hosts" Joey Graceffa and Meghan Camarena, "Best Friends" Pamela Chien and Winnie Sung, and "Dating Couple" Jessica Hoel and John Erck.

Jessica and John first departed at 2:56AM with not one, but two, Express Passes from winning the first leg.

The team's clue instructed them to travel by water taxi to Motu Toopua Nui and then search the grounds for a wedding chapel where they'd receive a blessing from a priest.
 
Jessica and John wanted to stay true to the pact they had made with four other teams -- Chuck and Wynona, Pam and Winnie, Idries and Jamil, and Dave and Connor -- whom they formed an alliance with during the first leg, but were wavering in their decision.

The alliance had previously promised one another that the first-place team would give the second-place team the other Express Pass considering it would be fair. But Jessica and John actually liked having mostly all of the teams suck up to them.

Dave and Connor, who finished the first leg in second place, approached Jessica and John about the deal, assuming and expecting they pair would keep their word. However, Jessica and John didn't give the "Father and Son" team a straight answer, and they admitted to cameras they weren't in an "honesty" competition and didn't really give the team their word although there seemed to be an agreement.

Because the water taxis didn't start rides until 7:30AM the following morning, all the teams except for Max and Katie and Caroline and Jennifer gathered together and waited.
 
Jessica and John were the first team to hop on a water taxi and they were soon followed by Bates and Anthony, Dave and Connor, and Idries and Jamil.

The first team to get blessed by the priest and receive their next set of clues was Dave and Connor. Following Dave and Connor were Jessica and John, Bates and Anthony, Joey and Meghan, Mona and Beth, Pam and Winnie, Idries and Jamil, and Chuck and Wynona.

Upon earning their next clue, the teams learned they must complete one of two Detour tasks: "Pick a Pearl" or "Take a Trunk."

"Pick a Pearl" required the teams to harvest pearls by diving into open water a half mile from the shore and untying lines of shells. After retrieving the shells, they had to shuck them open to ultimately find two red pearls and then swim to a pearl farmer to receive their next clue.

"Take a Trunk" required the teams to dive deep to the ocean floor wearing a diving helmet, find a treasure trunk, carry the trunk to an umbrella, remove all its content, and then work together to construct an underwater picnic dining experience. Once everything was in its proper place, the waiter would hand them their next clue.

Dave and Connor arrived at the location in the ocean for the "Pick a Pearl" task before any of the other teams, but they soon realized they never picked up their snorkeling gear back on the beach.

As a result of their big mistake, Dave and Connor had to go back where they started, grab their bag of supplies and then return to the Detour task via water taxi. In the meantime, the other teams were quickly approaching and the "Father and Son" team realized they had completely lost their lead.

Dave and Connor, Jessica and John, Bates and Anthony, Joey and Meghan, Idries and Jamil, Chuck and Wynona, and Pam and Winnie opted to take on the "Pick a Pearl" Detour task, while Mona and Beth attempted the "Take a Trunk" task.

Jamil decided to swim for his team, as Idries stayed on the boat and refused to get in the water. Jamil ended up really struggling with the task and he kept insisting he couldn't do it. Idries tried to convince Jamil, who wanted to just take a time penalty, to keep trying.

At first, it seemed like Jamil had given up and Idries was upset, saying they were "done" and "screwed" because they'd receive a six-hour time penalty that would "kill them."

Joey and Meghan were the first team to complete the Detour task, and they were soon followed by Jessica and John, Bates and Anthony, Dave and Connor, and Mona and Beth.

The teams' next set of clues instructed them to each swim to a high-powered jet ski and then use a local map to guide themselves to Motu Tapu, where they'd receive their next clue.

Meanwhile, Max and Katie were just departing the first leg's Pit Stop at 9:14AM and Jennifer and Caroline were right behind them at 9:15AM.

Some teams were embarking on their jet ski adventures while Max and Katie and Jennifer and Caroline were just receiving their blessing at the wedding chapel.

Afterward, Max and Katie and Caroline and Jennifer both attempted the "Take a Trunk" Detour task. In the meantime, Chuck and Wynona and Pam and Winnie completed their Detour tasks.

Upon completion of one Detour task, the teams then learned it was time to complete a Roadblock task. Joey and Meghan arrived at the clue first. They were then followed by Jessica and John, Dave and Connor, Bates and Anthony, Mona and Beth, and Chuck and Wynona.

For the Roadblock task, one member from each team was required to use stilts to kick a coconut 35 yards across the beach. If they stumbled along the way, their coconut could remain in place but they'd have to go back to the start and begin again. Once the coconut rolled over a certain line, they could make their way to the Pit Stop a short distance away.

Joey opted to do the Roadblock task for his team and Jessica, Connor, Anthony, Chuck, and Beth soon joined him.

Meanwhile, Pam and Winnie got lost on their jet skis. They were headed the wrong way, traveling aimlessly through open water.

Around the same time, Bates and Anthony and Dave and Connor were in a short foot race to the Pit Stop following the Roadblock task. On the way to the mat, Dave was claiming he had ruptured his Achilles tendon and would have to see a physician to determine if he could keep going in the Race.

Bates and Anthony beat out the "Father and Son" team, finishing the second leg in first place. Phil then told the team they had won a trip to London. Dave and Connor therefore finished in second place.

Following Dave and Connor were Jessica and John, Joey and Meghan and Chuck and Wynona.

Meanwhile, Max and Katie finished the Trunk Detour task and so did Jennifer and Caroline soon afterwards. But Idries and Jamil were still struggling with the "Pick a Pearl" task. Jamil told the cameras he had taken in water and rescuers had to help him. He and Idries officially gave up on the task and decided they should try the "Take a Trunk" one instead.  

Mona and Beth then ran to the Pit Stop mat and secured sixth place.

After Pam and Winnie found their way on their jet ski, it became time for them to complete the stilts Roadblock task and Pam wanted to do it. Max and Katie then arrived at the beach followed by Caroline and Jennifer, and the three teams were on the beach racing to complete the Roadblock task. Max and Caroline both got on the stilts.

Caroline and Jennifer finished the Roadblock task before the other two other teams. Meanwhile, Jamil and Idries finally finished up the Trunk Detour task, but they were way behind at this point.

Caroline and Jennifer then arrived at the Pit Stop and met Phil in seventh place. Max and Katie subsequently finished the Roadblock task and arrived at the mat in eighth place.

Pam and Winnie were left on the beach alone because Pam had a lot of trouble on the stilts. Winnie assumed they were either in last place or second to last place, hoping that another team maybe struggled or got lost along the way. Pam and Winnie then soon learned they had finished the second leg as the ninth-place team.

Meanwhile, Idries and Jamil were just starting out the stilts Roadblock task, which Jamil chose to take on. The episode showed the twin brothers completing the task after a few attempts and then making it to the Pit Stop mat in tenth -- and last -- place.

"Idries and Jamil, unfortunately, you are the last team to arrive and I'm very sorry to tell you that you have been eliminated from the Race," Phil told the team.

"We couldn't have run a better Race. The one thing we were worried about when it came to The Amazing Race was the water and it's just like, from start to finish, that's what killed us," Jamil said.
