The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise alum Jared Haibon has opened up about the status of his relationship with bachelorette Ashley Iaconetti.

On Bachelor in Paradise last summer, Iaconetti fell hard for Haibon and passionately pursued him the whole time she was on the show. While the pair went on a couple dates and kissed, Haibon never seemed to gain romantic feelings for her, which devastated Iaconetti and led to a waterfall of tears.

Since then, Haibon and Iaconetti -- who initially competed for Chris Soules on The Bachelor -- have hung out all the time, partied together and snapped numerous cute photos in public.

Because of how close they appear, fans have naturally questioned whether their friendship ever grew into something more. However, Haibon has confirmed that's not the case.

"Ashley is one of my closest friends... We're all hanging out. She's amazing," Haibon told Reality TV World during a Memorial Day weekend appearance at Foxwoods Resort Casino's "Bachelor Weekend." "She's probably one of my closest friends in the Bachelor family."

Haibon can't help but gush about the girl though.

"She's awesome," noted the bachelor from Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of The Bachelorette. "I can't say enough good things about her."

So is there anyone else in the picture then? Haibon told Reality TV World he's "single" and unsure whether he'd be interested in dating anyone else associated with The Bachelor franchise.

"I think it's tough to really know if you'd date someone strictly from TV," said the 26-year-old restaurant manager from Providence, RI.

"I think right now, I'm just kind of hanging out with friends and not really thinking about dating anyone else from the Bachelor family. If it happens, great. And if not, we'll see what the future has [in store]."
