The Voice coach Blake Shelton and his girlfriend Gwen Stefani will be taking the stage together for the first time ever on Monday night's performance show.

Shelton will debut his new song "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" on The Voice's May 9 episode from 8-10PM ET/PT on NBC. Stefani recorded the track with the country singer and also helped him write it.

"Go Ahead and Break My Heart" is on Shelton's latest album If I'm Honest, which will be released May 20.

"This is one of my favorite songs I've ever written or recorded," Shelton said in a statement. "It came from a time and place when Gwen and I were beginning our journey together and both experiencing a hard time letting our guards down with each other. The song couldn't possibly be more honest. I'm honored to have written and to perform this song with the great Gwen Stefani. Respect."

Shelton and Stefani began dating last year when each individual was dealing with the aftermath of divorce. Shelton had quickly finalized his divorce from country icon Miranda Lambert, while Stefani's ex Gavin Rossdale made headlines for allegedly cheating on the No Doubt songstress with their kids' young nanny.

Shelton and Stefani went public with their romance in early November after meeting on The Voice in 2014.

Early last week, Shelton, 39, tweeted the news of his upcoming performance with Stefani, 46. He also gushed to Entertainment Tonight about the song late last month.

"[The song] is very personal for us both because, you know, we obviously have this bond that is remarkable together," Shelton told ET.

"The fact that we wrote a song together -- I know that I don't co-write that much because I'm very insecure about it, I guess, and [Gwen's] kind of got her circle of people that she writes with. But for us to reach out to each other as writers, it may never happen again. Who knows... I hesitate to brag on it too much but I really think that it's as good of a song as I've ever written in my life."

Also on The Voice's May 9 broadcast, Florida Georgia Line will perform. And then during Tuesday night's live results show, which airs from 8-9PM ET/PT, James Bay will take the stage in addition to Conner4Real, who will sing with The Voice coach Adam Levine.
