"A reality TV veteran, Matt brings a [relatability] and an energy that is a perfect fit for this fun-filled summer competition series," USA executive Heather Olander said in a statement of the third-season American Idol finalist.

"As a former camper himself, we are excited to see Matt relive the experience all over again alongside this incredible group of characters."

Summer Camp will feature sixteen adults from all different backgrounds and jobs, ranging from a hunter to a supermodel to a vegan yoga instructor, packing their bags and heading to a lakeside retreat in Big Bear, CA.

Once at the retreat, the participants will compete in competitions inspired by classic camp games and eventually face off in a "Campathalon," an Olympic-style event.

Rogers has hosted several other television series since he competed on American Idol in 2004 -- including CBS' There Goes the Neighborhood, Lifetime's Coming Home, Discovery Channel's Really Big Things, and GSN's Beat the Chefs.

Summer Camp is being produced by Fly on the Wall Entertainment, the same production company that produces Big Brother for CBS, with producers Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan serving as executive producers.
