Penelope Cruz and husband Javier Bardem have their first child

Penelope Cruz has given birth to a son at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, the Spanish newspaper El Pais and Hola! magazine report.

The child is the first for the Spanish actress and actor Javier Bardem, whom she married last July.

People.com said Wednesday the couple's representatives have not confirmed the news.

The entertainment news Web site quoted an unnamed source as saying the baby was born during the weekend, however.
