NBC will bring back its Emmy-nominated reality show, "Last Comic Standing," next summer for a fourth season, it was reported Wednesday.

The first two seasons garnered solid ratings but a hastily thrown-together third season forced the winner to defend his crown days after winning it, Daily Variety noted.

The show flopped in the ratings and NBC tossed it over to Comedy Central for the finale.

The new production will feature some "twists and turns," NBC's Craig Plestis told Variety.

Casting for the new season is already under way.
