Filming has begun on the sequel to NBC's "10.5," with Kim Delaney and Beau Bridges reprising their roles in the original miniseries that aired in 2004.

Delaney -- an Emmy winner for "NYPD Blue" who currently stars in CBS' "CSI: Miami" -- played a seismologist who predicted that a series of earthquakes would lead to even more cataclysmic events.

Bridges -- a three-time Emmy winner for "The Second Civil War,""The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom" and "Without Warning: The James Brady Story" -- played a U.S. President who called up Delaney's character for help in preparing for the earthquakes she predicted.

The sequel -- "10.5: Apocalypse" -- began filming in Montreal last week. Writer-director John Lafia, who is also returning from the original, is shooting the sequel digitally.

"We are shooting this sequel on digital," he said, "which is allowing us to achieve a whole new level of visual effects and style that have heretofore not been seen on network television."

The cast also includes Frank Langella and Dean Cain.
