Director Clint Eastwood's drama about a working class woman who pays a heavy price for her determination to be a boxing champion won four Oscars overall -- one fewer than "The Aviator," which won more statuettes than any other movie this year.
Eastwood won for Directing, Hilary Swank won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role and Morgan Freeman won for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.
It was Eastwod's second directing Oscar. He also won for the 1992 Western "Unforgiven," which also won that year for Best Picture.
