Microsoft cancels Xbox One console exclusive 'Scalebound'
UPI News Service, 01/11/2017
Scalebound, an Xbox One console exclusive action role-playing game from celebrated developer Platinum Games, has been canceled.
"After careful deliberation, Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for Scalebound," the company who was set to publish the title noted in a statement.
"We're working hard to deliver an amazing lineup of games to our fans this year, including Halo Wars 2, Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves and other great experiences," they continued.
First shown during Microsoft's E3 2014 press conference, the game from Bayonetta helmer Hideki Kamiya would have put players in the shoes of sword-wielding main protagonist Drew as he battles towering beasts alongside his dragon partner Thuban.
Scalebound was originally intended to release for the Xbox One and PC during the holiday season of 2016 before it was delayed in January of that year until 2017.
