Melanie Brown 'shell-shocked' over Eddie Murphy's paternity demand

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown says she was "shell-shocked" when Hollywood actor Eddie Murphy demanded a DNA test to determine paternity of her unborn baby.

The singer, known as Mel B, said the demand by the "Beverly Hills Cop" star caught her completely by surprise, The Sun reported.

Brown reportedly learned from the newspaper that her relationship with the "Shrek" star had ended abruptly -- and that Murphy has hooked up with film producer Tracey Edmonds.

"There's no question that Eddie is the father of my baby," said Brown. "I haven't been with anyone else since I met Eddie. I'm shell-shocked by the whole thing. As far as I was concerned we hadn't really broken up -- we'd just had a bit of a row."
