Married at First Sight featured Chloe taken aback by Michael's feminine side and his request to wear her accessories, Emily getting into a bad ATV wreck on the couples' retreat, and Becca feeling "defeated" in her marriage to Austin during the Season 17 episode that aired Wednesday night on Lifetime.

Married at First Sight's seventeenth season was filmed in Denver, CO, and stars Emily and Brennan, Clare and Cameron, Austin and Becca, and now Michael and Chloe.

Orion and Lauren already chose to divorce, but they continue to appear on the season every now and then.

Married at First Sight features strangers meeting at the wedding altar, enjoying a honeymoon, and spending about two months moving in together and navigating the joys and struggles of daily life together.

And at the end of the experiment, Married at First Sight's Season 17 couples will reach "Decision Day" and have to decide whether to remain married or decide to end their marriages and divorce.

The couples were matched by Married at First Sight experts Dr. Pia, Pastor Calvin Roberson, and Dr. Pepper Schwartz.

The Married at First Sight broadcast began on Day 4 of Michael and Chloe's marriage, when they were waking up in bed on their honeymoon.

Chloe said she felt a lot better after having a good night's sleep. She assured Michael that her breakdown the prior night had nothing to do with him and she just had to get settled.

"In full transparency, I feel like I might lean on you a little bit when we transition into our new space, especially since I've only lived in one spot since I've been in Denver," Michael told his wife.

"It might be more challenging for me being in the new space, but I think any of the challenges I have would just be my aversion to switching living spaces."

Despite the obstacles ahead of them, Michael and Chloe were apparently looking forward to "real life" and blending their lives together.

Meanwhile, with 15 days to go until Decision Day, the other couples were packing their bags for the couples' retreat in Foxfield, CO.

Austin told Becca that they should work on what Dr. Pia had talked to them about, namely building affection and intimacy in their relationship, and Becca liked the sound of that.

Clare headed to the couples' retreat alone because Cameron was still recovering from a heart surgery, and she planned to relax and have a nice weekend with her girls. Lauren was also going to attend the retreat for the same reason, knowing Orion would be there as well.

Emily, for her part, was feeling "blah" about this vacation with Brennan. She seemed more excited to hang out with her girls than to work on her relationship with Brennan, who wanted to be in a non-pressure environment and just have fun with his friends.

"I'm still hoping Brennan realizes there's been no real effort on his end and so maybe he'll put in some initiative, but I'm not keeping my hopes up," Emily told the Married at First Sight cameras.

Michael and Chloe then checked out their new apartment in Denver, CO, and they both thought it was beautiful. Michael let Chloe have the sink she wanted in the jack-and-jill bathroom, and Chloe gave Michael the bigger closet for his massive shoe collection.

"I'd have taken the small closet and made it work, but the fact Chloe proactively offered the walk-in closet, that tells me, again, just how selfless she is," Michael shared in a confessional.

"I know we're both very considerate people, and I think leaning on that will help us transition into living together."

Michael suggested bringing in some of his canvas artwork, and Chloe, a self-declared minimalist, seemed fine with that as well.

Chloe admitted she wished she had some time to decompress in her old apartment by herself that night, but that wasn't going to happen.

When Brennan and Emily arrived at the retreat, Brennan blurted out, "Are you fine with separate rooms?"

That immediately rubbed Emily the wrong way, and she said she wasn't going to keep her hopes up because of Brennan's lack of effort to date.

"The more I feel hopeful, the more I get disappointed," Emily lamented to the Married at First Sight cameras.

Becca and Emily were glad to have each other, and Becca told her friend, "Maybe you'll have some luck -- and I'll get lucky!"

Once Orion arrived by himself, Orion told the group that his intention for the retreat was smoothing things over with Lauren and trying to build a bridge between them.

Clare showed up next. She felt guilty about having fun when Cameron was suffering and recovering, but she realized there was nothing she could do about that and Cameron needed his space.

Clare realized that she shouldn't take Cameron's approach to healing so personally, and she kept her head up and looked forward to growing as an individual and having a fun weekend.

Lauren then made it to the retreat that evening. She said she and Orion hadn't spoken since Michael and Chloe's wedding, which she found "disappointing."

Orion had told Lauren that he'd like to be friends, but Lauren pointed out how a friendship requires effort. Lauren said it was "exhausting" and frustrating when Orion had spoken about bonding and becoming friends but then made absolutely no effort, allegedly, to do that.

"I'm hoping for some bonding with the wives," Lauren noted. "I am not really looking for anything from Orion or with Orion."

During dinner that night, Emily revealed how she had booked an ATV adventure for Brennan and herself, and the guys in the room got pretty jealous.

"I hope you both crash and get serious road rash!" Austin joked, foreshadowing what was to come.

Orion announced at the dinner table how he felt "proud" about where he and Lauren were both at but he hoped to open up a different narrative. Lauren, however, wasn't up for a conversation with Orion.

"I'm just tired of getting my hopes up with conversations with Orion," Lauren complained to the Married at First Sight cameras. "When he brings things up in group settings, it doesn't seem authentic. It doesn't feel real. It seems like it's more to save face in front of our friends."

When the cast finally went to bed, Austin suddenly got up and left Becca high and dry.

"I don't really know what happened. He just rolled out of bed and went," Becca said in a confessional.

"He had said, 'Just so you know, I'm going to sleep in the big bedroom and you can come if you want.' I still was like, 'Well, are we going to do something?' And he just stood in the doorway and was like, 'I don't know. I don't know.' He was just drunk... It didn't feel very inviting."

Becca said Austin's behavior wasn't "welcoming" and so it was "disappointing" for sure.

On Day 5 of Michael and Chloe's marriage, Michael woke Chloe up by giving her a cup of coffee in bed. Chloe -- who apparently went to bed at 8PM the previous night and was exhausted -- thought the gesture was very sweet.

"I don't think there could be a better match [for me] in this process than Michael. He is feeling all of the emotions I'm feeling... and yet, at the same time, he's saying, 'Chloe needs me to be the rock of stability in this moment,'" Chloe shared, adding how Michael was thoughtful and attentive.

"He's been a wonderful support system so far," she added.

That day, Michael and Chloe were going to tour and explore each other's old apartments. Michael braced Chloe for a big closet and some wild fashion.

Meanwhile, Clare and Lauren played some basketball together at the couples' retreat, and Lauren opened up about how she became more confused every time she and Orion had a conversation.

Lauren wished she had more clarity, and she acknowledged there was "a lingering feeling of tension" between them.

"I don't know if that's ever going to dissipate, and so, at this point, I almost think it's a lost cause. I'm not interested in a friendship, because at this point, I don't know what I would gain out of a conversation with him," Lauren explained to Clare.

Chloe then showed Michael her apartment, and he liked her bits of style and flare throughout her place, including her coffee table that was a family-heirloom trunk from World War II. Michael thought their closets were also in the same realm.

Michael then tried on Chloe's large pearl necklace, with her permission, and she didn't exactly find it to be a turnon.

"Before I was a married woman, I never romantically entertained a man that leans into his feminine side. I'm definitely not sure how I feel about it yet. I'm taking it one day at a time," Chloe explained to the Married at First Sight cameras.

Michael told Chloe that he'd like to borrow her accessories and that it felt right.

When Chloe stepped into Michael's apartment, she was a little taken aback by his full closet, but she immediately fell in love with his little dog Melo and cat Franklin. She actually didn't find his closet to be overwhelming.

Chloe tried on a couple of Michael's coats, and he liked how she was open and accepting to different things he'd like to wear.

However, Chloe seemed a little shocked, and turned off, when Michael showed off his skirt collection.

"I never in a million years thought I'd be married to a man who owns more skirts than I do. It takes it to the next level," Chloe said in a confessional.

Back on the couples' retreat, Austin apologized for his behavior the previous night, and so Becca -- who had felt "defeated and rejected" -- let it go. The pair then enjoyed an unusual spa day complete with playful beatings and a cold bath.

While the spa day didn't look relaxing, Becca insisted it was, especially when the couple got massaged. Austin thought things were "getting better" for the couple, and Becca agreed.

Meanwhile, Chloe and Michael were preparing to meet with Pastor Cal, and before he arrived, Michael asked Chloe when he'd be able to borrow the earrings she was wearing. Chloe joked around with Michael about his request, but she appeared to feel a little awkward about it.

Pastor Cal told the couple that he saw "maturity" with the two of them, and then he asked Chloe what she thought about Michael wanting to wear her jewelry.

"I'm not used to a man wearing my earrings. It's, umm, it's not that it's my earrings. It's not that it's my pearl necklace," Chloe explained to Pastor Cal.

"It's just he's vastly different from any other man I've ever been in a relationship with, dated, or interacted with romantically in any way, shape and form, truthfully. And so man who leans so heavily into his feminine side, it's just new territory for me to navigate... It just takes time."

Pastor Cal mentioned how it's unfortunate vulnerability, nurturing and caring are feminine qualities, and Chloe agreed. She also acknowledged how the men she had dated in the past never worked out for her.

"What you've given me is a man I never would have chosen for myself, truthfully. We are not two people coming together where I'd say, 'I would've picked you out in a bar,' and truthfully, I asked for that man who has a great of gold -- and that's the man you gave me," Chloe explained.

Chloe said she valued Michael's authentic self more than the reaction they received from other people when walking into a store or restaurant.

Chloe shared how she was willing to give the marriage her best shot, and there was clearly a mutual comfort and respect between them.

Chloe also confirmed that she and Michael were building an emotional connection, and on top of that, Michael clarified that he was very attracted to his wife and definitely "wanted" Chloe.

Chloe told Pastor Cal, however, that she wanted to dive deeper emotionally before feeling ready to have sex. But she definitely liked hearing that her husband was into her physically.

Pastor Cal explained to the couple how it was okay to be intimate because they're married -- and how they shouldn't feel any societal pressure to take their time or pump the brakes.

The episode concluded with Emily and Brennan working on the "friendship aspect" of their marriage, according to Brennan, who just wanted to have fun and go on an adventure.

Emily and Brennan were having a blast on their separate ATV rides until Emily suddenly appeared to lose control of her ATV and crashed.

Emily had blood pouring out of her skull, and an ambulance was called for the Married at First Sight star. Brennan held a cloth onto her head until the ambulance arrived, and her head and neck were wrapped and supported as she was put into the ambulance.

Brennan noted how Emily's injury appeared to be "f-cking bad," and then the episode ended on a cliffhanger.
