Lions Gate ordered to take down grisly 'Saw II' movie ads
UPI News Service, 08/22/2005
The Motion Picture Association of America has ordered Lions Gate Films to take down its grisly Internet ads for "Saw II."
The MPAA said it did not review the "Saw II" material and if it had, it would have found the dismembered fingers used in the ads to be "unacceptable under Advertising Administration standards," the Hollywood Reporter said.
"Saw II" is the sequel to last year's hit horror film, "Saw."
