Lauren Conrad apparently isn't engaged after all.
"I will tell you exactly what I told the Post," her representative told Us Weekly. "This is totally false."
According to the Post report, which the newspaper published Monday, the 24-year-old reality star is "secretly engaged" to the 32-year-old actor but keeping the engagement under wraps until she can announce it on her new upcoming MTV reality show. "She is not wearing a ring because she wants to hold the secret back for her new MTV show," a source told the Post. According to Conrad, who confirmed the new reality series in September, her new show will be "something very, very different" than The Hills, focus on her professional life, and not include Howard. Conrad left The Hills -- which MTV ended after six seasons last year -- during its fifth season in 2009, ending a five-year period in which she starred on both The Hills and its Laguna Beach predecessor, which followed her as a 17-year-old high school senior in Laguna Beach, CA. "It's bittersweet," she told Us Weekly at the time, explaining that The Hills had been made things difficult on her "off-camera" romantic relationship with Howard.
