Aging U.S. pro wrestler Hulk Hogan says he could "totally understand" how O.J. Simpson could have been driven to kill his wife.

E! News reported the 55-year-old Hogan, real name Terry Gene Bollea, said during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine that his unpleasant divorce from his wife Linda, who he thinks has been intimate with a friend of her teenage son, left him seeing red.

"I could have turned everything into a crime scene, like O.J., cutting everybody's throat," he reportedly told Rolling Stone. "You live half a mile from the 20,000-square-foot home you can't go to anymore, you're driving through downtown Clearwater and see a 19-year-old boy driving your Escalade, and you know that a 19-year-old boy is sleeping in your bed, with your wife … .

"I totally understand O.J. I get it."

A spokeswoman for Hogan, Elizabeth Rosenthal, told E! News Wednesday afternoon those comments shouldn't be taken the wrong way and that he "in no way condones the O.J. situation."

"As part of a larger conversation, he referred to it to exemplify his frustration with his own situation," Rosenthal said in a statement.

Linda Hogan issued her own statement, accusing the wrestler off being a serial cheater who "destroyed our marriage, our family and our future."

"Sadly, his recent comments remind us that his definition of fair is much different than what the law dictates," she said.
