Fox announced On the Lot will air its two-part season finale over the course of two weeks, replacing the network's original intentions of broadcasting the reality filmmaking competition show's finale over the course of two consecutive nights.

The first part of On the Lot's finale will air live on Tuesday, August 14 at 8PM ET, with one of the Top 4 finalists being eliminated at the beginning of the broadcast. The remaining three aspiring filmmakers will then screen their new films in an assigned genre, with home viewers able to vote for their favorite immediately following the one-hour broadcast.

The following week, On the Lot will air the second part of it's live finale on Tuesday, August 21 at 9PM ET and reveal the identity of the $1,000,000 DreamWorks development deal winner that received the most home viewer votes after the show's August 14 broadcast.

Although poor ratings had caused Fox to drop On the Lot's American Idol-like twice-weekly broadcast schedule in early June, the network had previously still planned to air the first part of On the Lot's two-night final on Monday, August 13 and the second half on Tuesday, August 14.

However So You Think You Can Dance's results show that will reveal the third season's Top 4 finalists -- which was preempted from its Thursdays at 9PM ET/PT time period due to Fox's broadcast of an NFL preseason game on August 9 -- will now air on Monday, August 13 at 8PM ET/PT.  It will be immediately followed by Fox's broadcast of Hell's Kitchen's third-season finale at 9PM ET/PT.
