Food Network to debut new 'Worst Cooks in America' on January 3

Food Network has announced Worst Cooks in America, a new culinary competition series that will pit hapless chefs against each other for the chance to win $25,000, will premiere Sunday, January 3 at 10PM ET/PT.
Worst Cooks in America will begin with 12 cooks from across the country as they arrive at a "culinary boot camp" led by Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef host Anne Burrell and executive chef Beau MacMillan. The contestants will be split into two teams, who will then learn culinary skills from their leader -- either Burrell or MacMillan.
The contestants will subsequently be tested in a variety of challenges and based on their performances, they'll be eliminated each week until only two are left.
During the finale on Monday, February 1 at 9PM ET/PT, the two finalists will prepare a three-course meal for a panel of food critics, who will be under the impression that the meals were prepared by Burrell and MacMillan.
"Watching the Worst Cooks in America struggle to become great cooks, makes a show that is very funny, dramatic and moving," said Food Network programming executive Bob Tuschman.
"Ultimately, it offers hope for even the most kitchen-challenged of our viewers."
Food Network ordered the five-episode series in April.
