Flamboyant actor Eric Bogosian will return to the stage in February as the ultimate villain in a new play by Stephen Adly Guiris.

Bogosian, who became a star of off-Broadway and beyond in a series of ranting roles in the 1980s, will play Satan opposite Sam Rockwell as Judas in "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot," described in the announcement as a seriocomedy set in a surreal purgatory. It opens Feb. 8 at the Off-Broadway Public Theater.
The play will be directed by the eminent actor-director Philip Seymour Hoffman.
