"I wanted to let you all know that I have decided not to be a part of Dancing With the Stars this season," the 28-year-old dancer and choreographer captioned a family photo featuring her husband Samuel Cusick and 22-month-old daughter Sage.

"This has been one of the hardest decisions to make but ultimately, I have chosen what I feel is best for myself and my family."

Lindsay continued, "DWTS has been a part of my life for over 10 years now and when I say I love the show with all of my heart I mean it!! This show has changed my life forever and will always mean the world to me."

The So You Think You Can Dance alum, however, noted how family is "the most important" thing to her.

"Doing what is best for my daughter is always going to be at the top of my list!" Lindsay noted.

"As many of you know, my family and I live in UT and in order to do DWTS I have to move myself and my daughter Sage out to LA and leave behind my husband Sam who works full time here in Utah."

Lindsay pointed out how "logistically there is SO much involved" with moving to and living in California for the entire Dancing with the Stars season.

"And there is a lot of sacrifice that has to be made that unfortunately just did not feel right for us this time around," Lindsay shared.

"We exhausted every option we could think of to make it work but at the end of the day, none of the options felt good in my heart or felt like the right thing for our lives right now."

The wife and mom went on to confirm how she and Sam are currently trying for Baby No. 2.

"We are also trying to grow our family and that in itself is a complicated logistical thing as I'm sure many of you understand," Lindsay wrote.

"All this being said it's so important to me that you understand none of this has anything to do with my love for the show as that will NEVER change and it also doesn't mean that this is the end for me and DWTS."

"Although this decision has been so hard to make," she added, "I feel so much peace about it and know that it is the right thing to do."

Lindsay insisted, however, she "can't wait" to watch Dancing with the Stars and root on her friends.

"I'm going to be the biggest fan girl! Don't worry I'll still be here sharing all the things about motherhood, touching more on our TTC journey, continuing work over on my workout program @themovementclub, and so much more!" she concluded.

"Thank you all for your continued love and support for me and my family it means so much! #dwts."

Lindsay and Sam welcomed a baby girl into the world in November 2020.

Lindsay announced she was pregnant with her first child in May 2020, just one month before she and Samuel celebrated five years of marriage.

Lindsay and Samuel were high school sweethearts who tied the knot at the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, UT, in June 2015. Approximately 150 guests reportedly attended their reception at the Sleepy Ridge estate.

Fellow Dancing with the Stars pros Jenna Johnson and Emma Slater were among her bridesmaids in her wedding, with Witney Carson serving as her maid of honor.

Dancing with the Stars' lineup of celebrities and their professional partners for Season 31 this Fall will be announced at a later date.

But Disney+ revealed in a teaser clip last month that Witney, Cheryl Burke, Artem Chigvintsev, Brandon Armstrong, Daniella Karagach and Pasha Pashkov will be among the pro partners.

Dancing with the Stars will continue to be hosted by Tyra Banks, but DWTS alum and actor Alfonso Ribeiro will be joining her as a co-host.

Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman, and Carrie Ann Inaba will be sitting on the judging panel next season.

Lindsay did not compete on Dancing with the Stars' 29th season because she was pregnant at the time, but she joined the show for Season 30 and danced with The Bachelor alum Matt James.

Lindsay joined Dancing with the Stars as a pro partner for Season 16 and has competed in 10 seasons overall.

She and singer Jordan Fisher won the mirrorball trophy on Season 25, and Lindsay placed second on Season 24 with former baseball player David Ross.

Lindsay has also finished two seasons of Dancing with the Stars in third place.
