ABC was apparently interested in having Dan Marino go Dancing with the Stars, but the feeling wasn't mutual.

"They've asked him every year from the inception of the show, and he's never done it," Marino's business manager Ralph Stringer told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in a Wednesday report.

"It's just not something he's interested in doing. It's not a time commitment he's willing to make."

Earlier this week, Marino was one of a handful of celebrities that In Touch Weekly reported would be competing on Dancing with the Stars' seventh season, which is scheduled to debut September 22.

The Hall of Fame quarterback subsequently contacted the Miami Dolphins -- his former team -- and denied the report.

"Chipping and putting with [celebrities], maybe, but not dancing with them," Dolphins public relations president joked Harvey Greene to the Sun-Sentinel.

Marino retired prior to the 2000 NFL season, partly because of his hindered mobility after a ruptured Achilles' and several surgeries on his knees.  He currently works as a studio analyst for CBS' NFL coverage.

ABC will formally reveal the show's seventh-season cast during Good Morning America's August 25 broadcast.
