The Hills has been renewed for a fifth season, according to Audrina Patridge.

"There is going to be a fifth season," The Hills star told People magazine in a Friday report. "We just found out."

Patridge admitted to People that some of the show's cast who were pursuing other projects had talked about ending the show.

"At one point, all of us were like, ‘No, we don't want to do another season,’" she added. "I wanted to do more movies, and [Whitney Port] moved to New York and she’s doing her own spin-off. And [Lauren Conrad is] dating [My Boys actor Kyle Howard] but he can't be on the show because he’s on another show, so that makes it hard."

Conrad has previously stated her apparent desire to leave The Hills several times.

In August, Conrad told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show that she would "love to kind of finish out the show" and said that the fourth season of the MTV reality series would be her last. She has also said that she came "dangerously close" to quitting the show before the third season began filming because of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt's involvement.

However, Patridge said that the show's cast still "[had] fun with each other" despite the constant drama among them.

"We've stuck it out this long, so we might as well do another one," she told People.
